Okay.. so here's the deal.. I ordered shocks and springs from SHOX.COM.... I could have ordered from TCKLINERACING.COM but SHOX.COM was only 2 days ground shipping to me, and they were able to beat tckline by having free shipping, otherwise their prices are essentially the same. So.. yea.. I should have had everything installed and my car back on Tuesday, wednesday at the latest... but no car 3 days later.. here's what's up...

I ordered for a 98 E36... they send me 4 items... I bring these to the shop for install.. they call me.. the front springs don't fit.. okay.. fine.. give h&r a call.. shox.com a call.. well.. turns out they sent me the wrong springs.. they sent springs for a 99 E46.. I checked the invoice.. so I've got 3 items labelled for 92-98 E36.. but the springs are labelled for a 99 E46.. ok.. wtf (u'd think if yougot 3 things for 98, the 4th thing would be for a 98 right??).. anyway.. no biggie.. they apologized and tried to overnight the correct springs.. missed the shipping pick up.. so it was overnighted and supposed to arrive today.. but.. no package. what's going on?

I call shox.com up again.. they make a few calls and say it's been delivered already...i'm like.. huh? I have no package.. they make a few more calls.. and sure enough.. it was sent to the wrong address.. (luckily, still my address, just one in a different city)... so UPS says they won't pick it up adn redirect.. I've been carless.. it's in pieces.. I'm probably already going to be charged more labor b/c the shop had already isntalled the stuff then had to remove it... so I'm trying to get compensation.. have them pay for a rental.. pay for labor.. whatever.. don't you think it's only fair? This is already costing me more than it should..

Finally.. I ask to speak to "someone else".. you know.. someone up higher... and he comes to the conclusion it's MY FAULT  wtf?!? he says I should have checked the shipping address... sooo.. he's saying that the customer is wrong.. you know.. I assumed that since all the other stuff was mailed to me at the correct address.. the new and hopefully correct stuff would be mailed to me at that same address as well.... but I guess I was wrong to assume that wasn't I??? :dunno

So, we talk a little more.. him still trying to convince me it's my fault that they shipped to the wrong address.. which never would have happened anyway if they sent me the right stuff the first time.. and he says he'll call me back after he talks to H&R.. okay.. severall billion hours go by.. I call back and ask for someone above him.. unfortunately, he's the senior guy and there's no one else.. okay. well.. that sucks.. but.. eventually he calls back.. but I miss the call.. cause I'm at work.. and he leaves no message.. whatver,, I'm done dealing with them for now.. but if I get charged for extra labor by the shop I'm going to get them to pay for it.. hopefully willingly.. or I'll send my sister after em.. heheh.. she offered... (free attourney! :buttrock .. she's also a sports agent too.. if any of you feel you're talented enough... :biglaughb )

Conclusion.. stay away from shox.com and order from TCKLINERACING...same price with exception of shipping.. when i called those guys up there was like the friendliest guy i've talked to.... not to mention they specialize in bmws i believe.. and I've heard Ground Control is good too...hell.. everytime I talked to shox.com to order or whatever.. they didn't even say thanks for calling or giving business.. they lacked personallity.. and they just frigging hang up on you when ur done...

oh yea.. and in no way am I affiliated with any of the above mentioned companies.. especially shox.com...

That's a bummer! TC is a good guy with a good shop.... and it's a whopping 1.5 miles away from my house :) TireRack.com is another good option for Koni and H&R products.

hmmmm and to think i was thinking of ordering from shox.com in the future.

that is some really shitty customer service. and the real bad thing is it wouldn't have taken much for shox.com to correct the sitiuation and have the springs that were sent to the wrong address to your house. i mean, geeeze, they already missed up once! i can't beleive they broke one of the main rules, that is, saying you (the customer) was wrong. idiots!

I just ordered 2 rear shocks and they arrived in 5 days to the mailbox I have in the u.s. but I havent crossed the border yet to pick them up. If they are the right shocks I ordered I guess it goes to prove not everyone gets shit on.

a little update... finally got the springs... the shop tested out the front springs to see if they fit.. and they said it set right into the seating plate just fine..

I'm still carless and will hopefully get my car back monday.. tuesday at the latest..

HOWEVER!!! THey screwed up yet once again! They were supposed to include a shipping return label for me to send back the other springs.. but guess what, they didn't... as soon as I get my car back in working order.. i'll see what they say about that.. probably something like "It's your fault for not double checking our work.."

ANd yea.. if I get charged for extra labor from the shop for installing and removing the wrong parts... I'll see what they say about that too...

grrrrr...

Oh yea.. and like Bimmer95 said.. tirerack.com is also another good place too..

Just one question, you didn't relize they sent you the wrong parts b4 you took the car in. The shipping delay and all is a bitch, but it is life. As far as labor and rental, it pretty much is your fault for not checking the parts you received.

good luck.

i had ordered from shox.com and after reading the experience above i consider myself VERY lucky, the reason i am saying is coz after getting the shocks and springs i installed them a couple of months later, so if i had realized that they had sent me the wrong parts i would have been screwed so baaaaaaad.

later...

TC is a good guy, I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him. Some of his suspension mods for E36/E46 M3 are pretty kickass from what I understand. Shox.com is getting mediocre reviews...so screw'em.

You're buying from a) .com warehouse vs b) BMW suspension tuner so it's $ vs knowledge/service.
OTH: I just ordered a few Bilstein Sports from Eurasian at great price, will see if they are the correct ones.

Why not keep the E46 springs? If they want them back then they know where to find you. Call your credit card company and have them blocked from making any more charges to your account.

That'll teach 'em.

I've had no problems with shox.com. They even faxed me the installation instructions beofre I bought the product to make sure I was up to the task of installation. I have found them to have the best prices and was pleased with the service on the phone and with delivery. i have used them 3 times already, 2 BMW's and a Mercedes.
