I'd like to know if anyone can tell me if my starter from my US '95 M3 will fit my euro S50B32? I'd also like to know if my alternator will also fit the euro engine?
Thanks guys for any help.

You can use any starter on there pretty much.
I weighed about 6 BMW starters from E36 model cars at the dealership, there is not that much weight difference between different models.
FWIW, I don't think the lb or 2 you might save is worth the risk that the higher compression of your S50B32 won't wear the starter out, and someday fail you. It takes "more" to start a higher compression engine......
Virtually any alternator from an E36 I6 car will fit your engine as they all use the same oil filter manifold...so, you can mount any of them.
Alex.

Thanks Alex,
I'm actually thinking of swapping out starters as I suspect that the euro version may have issues. I never even considered a weight difference. If it bolts right up, I may go ahead and give a shot. Good to know about the alternator as well.
Thanks again.
