IMHO, better sound than AA Gen III, loudness somewhere in between Gen III
and System-U.

The TSE sounds awesome. I get compliments all over the place about how nice it sounds...

As far as loudness... I had a sound test done at the CA State Ref station and got an average of 100.5dB.

Whoa, 100.5. I knew it was loud, how was the test performed? Assume cats
were in place (ref station and all...)?

Full original headers and midsection were in place. Stock M50 with an ECIS intake and TMS software.

The test followed the SAE J1169 standard except it was performed outside. I believe the J1169 states the test should be performed inside with walls on 3 sides with 3 meters of clearance. Not sure on that one though.

They held the motor at 4125 RPM's for 5-10 seconds with the car stationary. I believe it was 5 attempts, each with the dB meter at a different angle.
Average of the 5 runs is taken. California limit is 96dB.

Just to put into perspective for those who don't know, a 10dB increase is perceived by the human ear as being twice as loud.

With that said... I love my TSE.:buttrock
