I searched (like always) and could not find any threads, or any pages on the net for that matter that hold a list of what cars he personally owns...

for that matter what about some other f1 drivers? I would love to know...

A safe bet is that most drivers will own cars produced by the manufacturer for whom they race. MS would have plenty of Ferraris, Kimi probably just traded in a Mercedes for a Ferrari, Button drives an NSX (I saw a funny kill story somewhere, with pics, where a guy was racing an NSX in a street race and it turned out to be Button), and I'm sure Alonso just sold his Le Car to some poor soul and got a new Benz. :D

If Alonso had any R5, it surely was a Turbo 2! :)

I don't know what a lot of them drive now, but just a few years back I heard that quite a few had e39 M5s. There's no point in these guys owning a road going sports car everything is a huge dissapointment. I'm sure MS owns lots of Ferrari's though because the company probably just gives them to him.

ive heard, before he retired for the first time, the that Villaneuve has a modded 996TT. Kimi has or had a modded E46 M3, saw pics but i dont think i saved them.
i read an article in last Novembers Forza magazine about MS first Ferrari. it was a blue F355 w/the rear wheel base extended 3 inches. he buys all his cars through his manager. he was also gifted his F2006 from his last race.

The more average car the better. Last year, Matt (the guy who owns the team) was driving his 1995 Isuzu Trooper (with 170K on the clock) back to the motel (we were at Lime Rock). He decided to have it out with a guy in a brand new Subaru WRX STI. Needless to say, Matt ate this guy up in the corners. Finally he (the Subaru) was able to blast buy us on a long straight. Well, being the nice race diver Matt is, he caught up to this guy (after the Subaru guy was slowed down by traffic) and Matt just passed him going into the oncoming lanes. After that, the Subaru guy just gave up. I have a feeling that the Subaru guy did not post his experience on the Subaru group, "Kill Stories" section. It would seem a bit weird to post, "I killed a 1995 Isuzu Trooper with 170K miles, on the back roads of Connecticut.

Actually, a rental car (with full coverage insurance) at a racetrack on a race weekend, is the most killer car you'd ever see in your life. Over the past year, a Subaru Forrester, Ford Freestar and PT Cruiser have proven to be the best cars you could ever own. To my knowledge, we hold the land speed record for a Ford Freestar at Bonneville.

BTW: It will only go 105mph.

Rental cars on the track FTW! We would often have two or three rental cars at the track on any given private test day (driver, coach, team). We had a "race" with two Pontiac GPs and a Chrysler Concorde at BeaveRun. The Pontiacs owned the corners, but the Concorde had 'em on the straights. By the end of the day, all three cars had massive chunking on the outer edges of the left front tires and very tired brakes. Such fun!

I don't know if he still has it, but Schuey did own a Bugatti EB110 SS LM Edition. There were 3 of those made, 1 for Michael, and 2 for some rich Asian guy.

One of the factory Porsche drivers from the Group C days was asked why his Mercedes road car was an automatic.

He said: "I only shift when I am being paid" (or something like that).

From wiki:

In 1992, a lighter and more powerful model with 600 PS (592 hp/441 kW) at 8000 rpm, the EB110 SS (either Sport Stradale or SuperSport) was introduced. This car was capable of 219 mph (352 km/h) and 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 seconds.

At a price of more than US$350,000 for the SS model, the car wasn't going to be anything but exclusive. Early in 1994 Formula One driver Michael Schumacher purchased a banana-yellow EB 110 Super Sport, giving the company a great deal of publicity.

If I remember correctly, he has all the F1 cars that he's driven in his career except for two, the Benetton B194 and the Jordan 191, someone correct me if I'm wrong. I've seen pictures of him with a purple Lamborghini Diablo as well. In 1996, his first year with Ferrari, he was supposedly given a new 550 for his 3 wins. As somebody else mentioned, he has a collection of V-rods scattered all over the world so when the F1 carnival rolls around in whatever country he can just ride off. :)

Got a free copy of Celebrity Cars mag a few weeks ago and there was a little article about MS in it. Forgot the fancy cars he mentioned, did say he has a lot of Harleys, and he said the car he drives most often is some type of Fiat mini-van because it is very practical for the family.

Yes - he said the Murano came in handy when he went up to the mountains, IIRC. I think the Renault was whatever their current city car is.

I think he picked up the Jordan 191 at auction last year. I remember reading a blurb about it and it also mentioning that he has one of every car he has driven.

Also, about the Bugatti, you guys should watch Martin Brundle's Supercars where Martin is testing out the EB110 and talks about how Michael showed up in his yellow one for a Benneton test (when they were both teammates). It is pretty interesting.

Alonso got a SLR 722, the special edition SLR, and a CLS for everyday from Mercedes.

In 2000, when BMW re-entered F1 and they released the E39 M5, Ralf Schumacher was given one (and most probably Jenson as he was Ralf's teammate at the time).

Kimi is rumored to have a black Enzo, even while driving for McLaren. He was doing some photoshoot at his home in Finland, and while they were getting this special edition chopper he had, the photographer caught a glimpse of the Enzo. He denied that it was his and that he was keeping it for a friend. Right...:devillook

Does he own a bunch of exotic cars? Certainly. Does he drive them often? Probably not since he is a fairly private person and doesn't like to draw attention to himself.

Wow.

Not true for the past couple years. In 2006 tiger Woods made 90 million dollars. MS was leading several years ago with about 60 million and probably still makes somewhere around there.

1 TIGER WOODS | golf $80.3
2 MICHAEL SCHUMACHER | auto racing $80.0
3 PEYTON MANNING | football $42.0
4 MICHAEL JORDAN | basketball $35.0
5 SHAQUILLE O'NEAL | basketball $31.9

7 ANDRE AGASSI | tennis $28.2
8 DAVID BECKHAM | soccer $28.0
9 ALEX RODRIGUEZ | baseball $26.2
10 KOBE BRYANT | basketball $26.1

Here are the top 10 highest paid athletes in 2005 according to Forbes.
Tiger Woods - $87M. The guy makes most of his money ($80M) just from endorsements and appearance fees.
Michael Schumacher - $60M. This is actually a drop in income because of lower endorsements and licensing.
Oscar De La Hoya - $38M. $35M came from just 2 fights.
Michael Vick - $37.5M. Got $30M as guaranteed bonus money for his 10 year contract with Atlanta.
Shaquille O'Neal - $33.4M. He has the NBA's highest salary at $28M.
Michael Jordan - $33M. All of it from endorsements.
David Beckham - $32.5M. All that money and he still doesn't know how to tell time (http://blog.sportscolumn.com/story/2006/2/28/10748/0560).
Kobe Bryant - $28.8M. Hate him for his cash.
Lance Armstrong - $28M. I guess he realized with $28M, he could do better than Sheryl Crow.
Valentino Rossi - $28M. Yeah, we never heard of him either. Apparently he races motorcycles in Italy.

Heres a funny story. David Beckham the footballer had a BMW e36 m3 Convertible. He sold it and the man (can't remember his name) bought it, enjoyed it then sold it too thinking it was worth alot, not only for the M badge. A BMW dealership told him it was worth no more than £15,000 ($30,000) he took the offer. He later found out they had sold it on for £93,000 ($180,000).
Showed the signature in the history log and everything besides David coming down in person.
