I think my steering rack or pump went out because its very hard to steer and vibrates like crazy with any movements from the steering wheel. The steering pump also makes noises while trying to turn the steering wheel. And I'm not sure if is the pump or the rack at this point.


any input?


This is for a 2001 330i w/ 89k miles

probably the pump. don't see very many rack go bad. but seen plenty of pumps go out. fluid level full.

Yep most likely the pump, but check your hoses too.

I'm going to try replacing the power steering pump today.

any input? is it hard?
