Going to be picking up my ride this week, and I would like to know of a suggested shop to get my windows tinted. I had my hardbody tinted at some place just off garnet ave before it turns to balboa, but I am not liking this tint after ten years of abuse, washing my windows, etc.

I figured any of the shops on miramar would be good enough, tint devil being kind of pricey(since I have been driving ten years ago). :rolleyes I plan on getting two steps lighter than limo all around. :buttrock (almost) yakuza style.

Good place down on University ave just east of 70th street
lots of good write ups in mags etc..
I forget the name, might be cheaper.
I got my Ford done there 3 years ago, tint still looks great

the ucsd car club is running a GB on tint at Diamond Services. Just say you are with imports@ucsd, and they'll give you a discount.

e- how much did you pay? Ive seen your car around UCSD, it's coming along nicely. You should paint the moldings, haha, and that's all I will say. What lot do you usually park at?

Its supposed to close by this saturday, but he might extend it, just go in and talk to the manager, Alberto, and see if he can still let you in on the GB if its after saturday.

I live close to campus so I just shuttle.

Car is looking great man, saw it on library walk a few weeks back.

For tint I used a place on El Cajon blvd. I forget the name, just west of that huge church, had great results.

uh... el cajon blvd goes like 30 miles... east from the water into east county. i'm sure there are several huge churches on that street.

It is right beside a independent car dealership and pretty close to BMH deli my favorite place for sandwiches.

Yeh Eloquent was the place I went.

particularly good with the dot matrix issue.
the black out stuff some cars have around edges of windows on the inside that fade into a matrix of black dots that are raised and can create air bubbles under the tint that can expand with heat and start to peel.
My Ford has the dots but it still looks very clean all around 3 years later.
I have 3M tint on my mitsubishhi 4WD 2.5 liter turbo diesel (LOL) in the Phillipines (HOT) and its still good 5 years later.
Its good and I liked it cuz it has tiny 3M logos init that you can barely see under certain ligting, kinda kool. Ive always liked 3M products.
They use Lumar which they swear by. They said its as good if not better than 3M.

A little off topic...

How long does it take for these tint guys to do the job? I just need my two door windows redone and am wondering if it's the sort of thing i can do on a lunch break .

And I have been recommended to go to Tint Devil on Miramar
