Ok, ladies and gentlemen... (hopefully get a little of both out for the weekend)...

SoCal Meets Vegas 6/22-6/24 is a go!

I, with the help of a few others, have already put in motion all the steps necesary to make this dream a reality! We already have a caravan from So Cal planned out (leaving Friday evening), a tentative-hotel arrangement, and many activities planned out throughout the weekend (planning to have a drive on Saturday and GTG on Sunday) with smaller keep-busy-and-have-fun activities littered throughout the weekend.

We are doing everything we can to gear this towards all ages with the ability for those of legal drinking/gambling age enough freedom to "endulge" in those activities....

The only thing we need to really make this a "for sure" is enough of a commitment to the hotel... I will personally have to put a rather large deposit down in order to ensure a good rate and for us to be able to stay together....

Currently, the front runner for lodging is Imperial Palace for 3 main reasons... Location, Location, and Location. It is a hotel/casino located in the heart of the strip with decent accomodations, better than fair nightly rates, and secured/patrolled parking. We could have stayed a few miles off-strip for about the same amount, but I figured for both people "of age" and "under age", they will want to not have to worry about transportation to and from the strip... and just walking around the strip is a lot of fun no matter how old/young you are.

Our quote for the room looks like it will be JUST under $100/night... which is a great rate for being on the strip in the Summer on a weekend. I will be sharing a room with a friend to cut the cost in half, and they have doubles/rollaways available to make this happen... If you want to try to put 4 people in a room, that is up to you, but one person will be need to put the room on their credit card to secure a room.

So I need to start to get a feeling for how many people are willing to actually pan-out the money to go on this amazing trip and how many of the people are just talk. So please post up in here if you are "planning to" come. Like a "unless something unforseeable happens, I will be there" type of RSVP. If we can't get 10 rooms spoken for, I can't move forward....

So post up!

Please post up
1) That you're planning to
2) How many rooms you're speaking for

If someone has already posted that they are coming and you're staying in their room, please let us know

I'm down. My B-day is the 26th and my family has a second home out there.

Does that mean you won't be staying in the hotel? LMK.. I'd highly suggest getting a room, rates are low and the in-hotel events should make it worthwhile.

Be sure to have a solid cooling system before heading out there in June.

It's most likely much different in Carlsbad, but Vegas and LA weather aren't all that different. I'm from the Valley, psh... haha

I've been to Vegas many times during the summer. It'll easily be over 100 in May, and up to 115 in August. Carlsbad is absolutely perfect all summer long. :cool

Well, I've researched averages for Vegas on the scheduled dates and average is around 100... which is almost identical to the valley...

... Waiting on the contract from the hotel... Everything is starting to get confirmed and we should be able to start making hotel reservations sometime early next week!
