Although we expect the 2008 BMW M3 will weigh slightly more than the former 3,460-pound M3, the additional 77 hp represented by the new 4.0-liter V8 should yield improved performance. There won't be anything official for quite some time, but we hear BMW expects acceleration to 62 mph in 4.9 seconds. Top speed will be electronically limited to 155 mph as with existing M-cars, but we understand the car is geared for 175 mph at the V8's redline in 6th gear.

Damn -- this better be a misprint.

It incorporates details from E36 M3, E46 M3, M6, Maserati, Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin...
When I look at these pictures that's what I see, it's the blend of all into one!
The engine will for sure win the award, it will be fun to whatch things unfold.

Insiders tell us that this E92 coupe is the first of a whole lineup of models from BMW's M division, including an E90 M3 sedan, E93 M3 hardtop convertible and (for the first time) an E91 M3 wagon.
This could be an interesting couple of years.

M3 Sedan/Wagon....4 wheel drive??

I dont know, its not wide enough. almost look like 335 coupe, fender-wise.. and the side mirrors are funny. if they could only push the weight down to 3400-ish i could easily forget about how funny it looks.

I love it too, and if they kept the weight down to even 3500 lbs it's going to be one hell of a car.

I know the feeling... it pisses me off too to know that they exist i can still remember the feeling i had when i saw the first pics of the //M5 wagon:shifty .
But unfortunately in there are people in europe that love their wagons amd that's mostly who's gonna be buying them.

looks a lot like a G35 coupe

Except not as well done and much more riced-out.

That car looks pretty bad.

i hope it goes faster 0-60 than 4.9 sec....maybe 4.5 will be great... haha

I'm still on the fence. I like the rear, and the side profile is ok...but i can't stand the front, it's just too boring. They need to make the front bumper more attractive, maybe a 1 sided intake like the E46 CSL. I hope they give at least an option for a sunroof since i don't really think a CF roof is that great. I'm not spending 65k for a friggan race car, i want my luxury options. Lease is up on mine in Sept 08, so this car may be an option for me.

BMW- BRING BACK DAKAR FOR THIS M3!!!

BMW- BRING BACK DAKAR FOR THIS M3!!!If you place an order and purchase your BMW in advance...you can have your M3 built with any color code BMW has ever offered* :cool

PS; This M3 exceeded my expectations on looks.....i believe it's a knock out! Unfortunately I know that so many other people will agree that it'll make it impossible to obtain one of these for under $60K for the entire first year that they are released. That's the blunt reality.

I like how it looks, as long as it is kept light it should be better than say the RS-4. It should be interesting to see what the handling will be like. The final version is displayed in September I think?

I love it! Mine will be a red convertible with tan interior, loaded with most, if not all of the options.... Let's go BMW and get it to market ASAP.

Personally, I like the e46 better, as far as looks go. The performance difference might make up for it though.

i guess we have different tastes. I dont c whats wrong with it. The wheels are acs, and yes its dropped too low on the PS. But other than that i dont c ur point. There wasnt too much else done to it.

I guess you like OEM and would never go any other route.

I like lowered cars, just not ones dropped to the point that they're dragging on the ground like a riced-out Honda.

I know, I ordered my last one. I just want them to offer the color so i don't have to spend 2k for an individual program car.

Still looks like a g35 from every angle but the front head-on. Maybe Bangle can't really get it right unless he copies someone else.
