Hey all,

In the process of swapping my S50 block for an M52. I'm reusing the M3 head. I bought the head gasket kit for the M3 (S50), and now I realisze that the head gaskets are different. The M52 has slightly smaller cylinder holes (obviously ... smaller bore).

Now the question: Since the head is the same, would it be a problem to use the M3 head gasket on the M52 block? This will leave a tiny lip around the pistons where the gastket is too large ... thoughts?

I would imagine this would be better than using the m52 head gasket and having the edge of it protrude into the head/combustion chamber.

I would think that would be bad to use either. To have to small would have issues of valves and pistons hitting the head gasket, but to small would have issues of raising the displacement of the cylinder. and not having a tight seal at the edge of the piston on the deck.

I would try it. Let us know :)
