If the clicking sound is from the starter the cause could be low battery voltage. You can have the battery tested at most any auto parts house (Advance, Auto Zone, etc).

Was the diagnosis a fault in the EWS or the immobilizer? The immobilizer is essentially a command detonated fuse in the primary wire to the starter and I quess I don't know if a 95 has one. In an accident the SRS fires the fuse to prevent starter operation. If this car has an immobilizer, a quick proof of it being the cause would be to jumper around the fuse. If that fixes it replace the immobilizer.

If the fault is in the EWS more diagnostic information would be needed to determine the fix.

where can i find that fuse ? the ews is sweet , the diagnostic information showed up a fault with the immobilizer , when i get the car started by removing the battery then connecting it it would drive all day long until i take out the key , surely if it was the fuse it wouldnt start , but i will look there , can u please tell me where this is?

From memory on an E36, there are two positive cables that connect to the battery. One has a lump in the cable that contains the immobilizer fuse. While that fuse could have a high resistance, I don't see how that could be temporarily fixed by disconnecting the battery before start. It sounds to me like the fault is in the EWS or DME, in which case a hard reset might work. But a temporary jumper around the immobilzer would quickly tell if it is at fault.

how do i do a hard reset?
That's what disconnecting the battery does.

Did you replace the battery? If not does it charge up to and remain at 12.6-12.7v under load (for example with the parking lights on)?
