My passenger window just stopped working and I'm 90% sure that the motor is still good. When I press my passenger side window switch (up or down) it just makes a click. And not a "click click click click" noise, just a single click when I press down, and another single click when I let go- a "click click".

The click noise comes from under my glove box, where all the electrical stuff is. It does not come from in the passenger door (I already have the glove box off, AND the passenger door panel off so I'm 100% positive the click noise is coming from under the glove box and not the window motor.)

-I have a 1996 328is. Anyone ever have this kind of problem?

-What should I check first?

-I searched already, and its not the relay under the driver panel (comfort relay) And for my car, that blue relay under the driver kick panel is the "High Beam Module"

-The window switches are fine. I already tried switching them, and they both work on the driver's side window

-I'm so confused, please help

You might check for power at the motor connector. That sort of eliminates electrical problems.

If the window is down, you might try pulling up on it while some operates the switch. The e36 models have plastic sliders that run in a track in the door. If one of those sliders break, it takes more force to operate the window than the motor can supply.

I'm guessing the motor is the culprit. What makes you think that it isnt? Do what the other poster mentioned, check the voltage to the motor.

that click is the relay for the window motor. it is integral to the GMIV. it is normal operation. replace the window regulator.

I suggest before replacing anything that you go to Bimmerdiy.com.

Also, there must be a hundred plus threads on windows in the last 2 years and some valuable info as to how people fixed their's without throwing new parts at it in a guessing game.

Maybe your problem is that you support Arsenal.

((I KEED, I KEED))

But you should expect that coming from a Man U supporter....lol....
