Just a quick question. Does the E92 328i's stock exhaust look decent? I see that chrome tips can be ordered, but just curious if the regular exhaust that comes on the coupe looks nice.

I know this is apples vs oranges, but I was behind a Nissan Murano the other day and they had these awful dual exhaust with 1.5" pipes and cheap looking tips bolted on the surround to make them look larger, the alignment was all skewed and they just looked awful. rjm 03-01-2007, 08:30 PM These are the optional ones you can buy from the dealer for about $60. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46/w5lx/ChromeTips.jpg BMWSportXXX 03-01-2007, 09:29 PM I bought some too. Well worth the investment. The exhaust just looks like plain steel without them. hguanbmw 03-02-2007, 12:57 PM I've gotten the chrome tip, and they are well worth the 60 dollar price tag. :) Sincerely JZ Justbringit41 03-02-2007, 07:31 PM Can I let the dealer know to put on the chrome tips once the car has already been made and shipped? They do it at the dealership right? Is that a part they have to order or they usually have those in stock? hguanbmw 03-02-2007, 08:34 PM They usually have those in stock, $32 each from my dealership, and it's extremely easy to put in. There's a very nice DIY file on e90post.com, although I doubt you will ever need it. :) Sincerely JZ lauyeung 03-02-2007, 11:51 PM How long does it take to put in the chrome tips? I don't know too much about auto mechanics. Will I be able to do this myself? aftp302 03-03-2007, 12:06 AM How long does it take to put in the chrome tips? I don't know too much about auto mechanics. Will I be able to do this myself? 10 minutes even if you're a complete novice. All that is involved is a set screw. Slide the tip over the exhaust and tighten the set screw. |
