Burdell 03-01-2007, 02:14 PM Absolutely. theroyalwe 03-01-2007, 02:16 PM absolutely. I would go one step further and see if you can find one somewhere that is CPO. I'd also ask for a carfax report. GoodguyFly 03-01-2007, 02:41 PM That is what I did and I am quite happy with my decision. Compile a list of problematic areas with the E36 and hand it to the mechanic. theroyalwe 03-01-2007, 02:58 PM if it's an 06 then I suspect it's an e90 Harve 03-01-2007, 03:10 PM Yes and I would make sure to take it to one of the BMW dealerships to get it checked out. nycgolfer 03-01-2007, 04:03 PM Yes, it's an e90. Since it's only a year into the 4 yr warranty, shouldn't everything be covered still? Oh, and how much should it cost to get it checked out by a bmw dealer? Harve 03-01-2007, 04:10 PM Yes, but you still wouldn't want to be stuck with someone else's lemon even if it is covered by warranty. Not sure, up here it's about $150 cdn. G. P. Burdell 03-01-2007, 06:19 PM Oh, and how much should it cost to get it checked out by a bmw dealer? Pricing varies by shop. My local shop did a couple of pre-purchase inspections for us at no charge. Call your local BMW dealer and ask them if they do pre-purchase inspections. If the dealers in your area have a bad reputation, try a local independent shop. Start here (http://www.bimrs.org/) to find one. Run a Carfax on the car, but realize that it isn't perfect. You may also be able to get the car's options list and service history from your local dealer. It's called a DCS report. |
