This is my first post guys, and I wanted to say hi.

I'm new to THIS forum, but not a forum n00b, so don't worry. I promise to search, as well as annoy the piss out of everybody for a good 6 months, until I learn some of the basics... lol

The wife wanted a 3-series, and we decided on a Black Sapphire Metallic 328i with the xenon, premium, auto, and heated seats...

Very nice car. If it was for me, we would have got the 335i, but she doesn't care about speed or HP. Love the fit and finish, and this thing just "feels" different than all the other cars we test drove. Hard to really pin-point, but we both just really liked it.

I came from having a 400hp STI, to selling that for a TL type-S, now the wife went from a Subaru Legacy GT, to the 328i... talk about a change!!!

I miss the speed of the STI, especially with what I had done, but it sure is nice to have a NICE relaxing car to drive every day. She's very happy...

I'm sure you will all see a lot more of me. Quick question, because I'm so damn confused, even after searching. This is the E90, or E92? Also, do intakes make a difference at all, or is it not even worth it?

Thanks guys... happy to be here!

I'm in the process of negotiating a deal on the 328 sedan My other choice was or still might be, the Type S. How would you compare the two in terms of daily drivers, comfort, ride, build quality etc. Any info would be appreciated.

I haven't been able to spend much time driving the 328i yet... I'll get back with more details tomorrow after spending a day driving it...

Initially, I was much more excited with the TL-S, mostly because for 38K it comes LOADED with the greatest Nav system there is. Acura's nav and voice command system is second to none, even most reviews agree.

The TL-S is definitely faster, but the 328 has more low end torque. I noticed the Automatic in the 328 was much better in "manual" mode, shifting faster than the TL-S. Also the TL-S has a 5-speed tranny, and the 328's 6-speed seems to perform a little better...

It's hard to say... options for options, I prefer the TL-S because of the options, the interior (which is VERY nice) and the overall package. That, and you don't see them on every corner. The wife likes the look of the 3-series, and is happy driving a "no frills" model.

If you're looking for speed and options, go TL-S...

If you don't mind spending a little more though, the 335i is a much better choice than the TL-S if you want some ass behind it! Problem is, loading up a 335i to the same options as the TL-S will be 10K more... :(

You didn't say whether your 328i was a coupe, sedan or wagon but you said "xenon" as an option so I'm guessing it's a sedan. Here is the breakdown anyway:

E90 = Sedan
E91 = Wagon
E92 = Coupe
E93 = Convertible

This is the same regardless of engine (328 vs 335) and drivetrain (i vs xi).

Something I will say... the BMW service and "quick paced" deal was SUCH a nice surprise... Probably the single best car buying experience I've ever had...

I took delivery of my 328i Sedan last week so I'm living your joy too. I got Monaco Blue with Beige Dakot and Dark Burlwood, Premium, Sports and Cold Weather Packages, STEPTRONIC, PDC, Comfort Access, Shades & Nav.

I stationed in Europe and bought the car as a redeployment present to myself. I had it on the autobahn the other day; she runs like a rocket on rails. I can't wait to get beyond the break in and for warmer weather so I can put my OEM tires back on and really air her out.

After a full day of driving the car... it is amazing!

I'm not sure if I can buy anything else but a BMW from now on!! lol

Just the little details make me happy with our purchase. The adaptive headlights are SOOO cool! I also really like the 6-speed auto, it shifts VERY nicely. That, and the factory stereo REALLY surprised me.

Congrats man.
I never thought I would drive a BMW...then when I drove it I had to have one...haha
We went through subarus too(Legacy, WRX) and I'm glad I have the 328i now. I looked at the STi when I was buying my new car and the power was fun but day in and day out I'd much rather lose some power if it means driving the 328i. I never get tired of it!

You don't think I've already talked to BMW about it??? ;)

Seriously... it makes me sick to even think about it because my TL-S is such a great car, and only 4 months old... but I'm REALLY in love with the BMW's now.

The wife told me to take the 328i into work today, and my morning commute was just awesome today. I'm REALLY starting to like this... I'm going to be upside down, so I just have to somehow justify it.
