Don't be a cocksucker. They do halfass work, they leave dust, dirt, hair etc inbetween the glass and the film. They leave trapped water, air bubbles, poor edge cuts, etc.

Every single car I ever saw with a Mothers sticker on the front glass looked like a hack job... which is another BIG no no, when you do good work people WILL advertise for you, no need to slap a sticker in between the tint and glass. IF I came to pick up my car and saw a sticker there I would make them peel the tint on the spot and tell them to get fucked on the bill.

and the plus side to living in the styx (where I live) is cheap labor.

I got a pretty good job done on my M3, 20% all around, for $100. I had to point out a couple tiny bubbles when I picked it up, which they then removed, but all in all very good.

The E38 was quoted at $160, which includes removal of the purpling and bubbled tint all around and replacement with 30% all around. Hopefully gettting this car done soon.

so how much would my E39 run for 20% if they removed my current tint too. what if i removed current tint and took in?

I bet your e39 would be the same as the e38... alot of glass area.

I wouldn't try to remove it yourself. On the side windows if you really want to punish yourself.. but don't get anywhere near the rear glass with a blade. One slip and you cut off a couple defroster lines.

The pros spray the tint down with straight ammonia and then put saran wrap over it to hold it on. Add some sun heat and a hour.. and then the tint falls off almost. Ammonia breaks down the tint and the adhesive.

Tint hasn't been done yet, but you can get a good idea of how bad whats on it now is. The sides are just purpled.. the rear is purple and bubbled to hell. Cannot see a damn thing out the back.

There is a damn good place on going 183 and taking the exit for Burnet.

Once you take the exit, stay on the right lane and it is in the same shopping lot as the shell gas station.

The place may look a lil shitty, but dude they do a hell of a job and for a good price. They did my mom's Barely used 06' GS300 for a damn good price including removing previous tint (too light) for under 200 if I remember correctly.

Ford, Lexus and all those dealers near it take their cars there anyways for tinting.

Hit me up if you need more info.

Peace.
