My new 335i sedan will be here within a week - it's in the USA port per the dealer. I'm planning on having the dealer add an alarm. I'll have someone else add the 3m plastic protection. I'll also get BMW floor mats. Can you all recommend anything else right of the bat?

I have to go on a mad tear now making room in my garage for it - have to clean up all my junk!!

This is gonna be amazing! My first luxury car. My best prior car was a 1995 Maxima which was pretty strong. I've also had a new Datsun 260Z (way back 33 years ago) and a couple of triumphs (TR250 and TR6 that I restored), but this is obviously going to top them all.

1st, you should not be paying for floor mats or tint if you want that too - those should be standard freebies.

2nd, the alarm is a waste of money in my opinion. How many times have you heard a car alarm and done anything or seen anyone else do anything. They can't start the car without the fob and an alarm won't scare anyone off from a smash and grab (like most are)

3rd, I'm not a big fan of the 3m item. Some say you can't see it, others say you can after a wax or two. I can't imagine that it would be seemless.

4th, agree with the above post. Buy a good radar detector. Take the extra money you'll save from ther useless above items and get a hardwired unit.

Oh yeah - forego the dealer ipod option and just get the monster solution.

yeah... don't even hint that you'll buy mats. it's something most dealers throw in. even if they don't they often give a gift certificate to the boutique where you can get them there... so don't worry about ending up without mats. In PA tint isn't included... probably not in MD either. here in PA there are weird laws on tint so really there aren't many that get it even after the sale.

no window tinting in this area either...NYS law wants 85 % of light to go through...totally useless.

oh and please don't waste your money on the alarm. no one cares about them anymore and they do nothing for you besides beep.
