A television documentary on the 5th Anniversary Targa Newfoundland international road rally will air across Canada and the U.S. in March 2007.
The one-hour documentary, shot over the six days of competition in September 2006, follows the competition through St.John's and rural Newfoundland. Lots of racing action and lots of local colour/scenery.
The special will air on Sunday, March 4 at 3:30 pm EST on the SPEED Channel cable network.
Anyone familiar with Targa New Zealand, well this is basically the same type of event.
Just an FYI - and yes you'll see some BMW's in competition.

Hopefully Jim Kenzie (?) from Motoring 2007 on TSN will commentate again, he's done an excellent job on the past shows about the Targa. And he wins the odd one!
this was done back in August IIRC. A friend of mine entered for the 4th year in a row, the drivers dvd is much better then what they air, i will have to see if I can get a copy.
For those that caught it last year... Tony klusterman. Spent a few hours working on his WRX (last year blue this year white)

Jim Kenzie is competing again this year, but a different company is doing the coverage broadcast. There are some beatuiful older cars running in this event, along with newer models, in various categories - amateurs, pros, weekend warriors...a little something for everyone!

The event keeps growing and getting better each year - competitors and cars from around the world, nice to see such an event in our little corner of the world.

Too bad about that '73 Datsun 510 - was a beautiful old school ride. Crazy too with that Porsche ending up in the drink! The event certainly has some high attrition for sure.

Just watched it today....alot of cars really bit the dust in '06! Well put together and A.C.P. (the host) was quite a good choice....really liked him in War of the Wheels on Global too.
