Tinting issue::help
I went to drop my car off to get the windows tinted and I know typically with Bimmers, there is a lot of sufrace area where there is the dot matrix stuff. Now here lies the problem, typically tinters say that the tint/adhesive will not stick so well in these areas b/c of the dot matrix and there will be a little bit more white/bubbly areas. Is this true?

and I heard from some ppl that to combat this, tinters will either take fine grit sand paper to sand it down a bit to that the dot matrix is more flush with the window so that there is better contact for the Tint/adhesive; or per the tinter, he said he usually places a piece piece of black vinyl over the dot matrix area, making it completely dark/black and tints over that. Does any of this sounds right? Also how would it look?

For now, I just told him to tint it as is and that I wanted to see how it'll come out. If it is really bad. I may have him just put the black vinyl on the top portion of the rear window and have him tint over it. Thanks for your time guys!

You'll be fine! I have had several of my cars tinted over several years...no problems.

There's no bubbling around my dot's. Dunno if they did a fine grit first though.
