I have not even taken delivery of my 335i yet and I already am torn. :help

Here are my issues:

I am coming from a heavy underpowered Audi A6...0-60 in about 7 seconds lol...

I have only test driven the 335 once and that was in winter conditions so I have no idea of the inherent power of the vehicle, but I am reading all of your posts about adding more hp to the 300 to really make it a fun car to drive.

I am wondering how many of you are happy with the stock power of the car, or if upgrading/chipping the engine is essential for enhancing the driving experience. In my city, there are cops everywhere so I wonder about the necessity for more power when I can never use it (except maybe to merge or the occasional lane change).

Should I buy that new turbo tuning device from eurobahn while its only 499 (group buy) without even seeing my car yet or just wait? I'd like to hear from other owners who are driving it daily and let me know if it's enough power for you in daily city driving.

Thanks for helping me stop or continue the money bleed haha.

i'd wait until you take delivery of the vehicle. they do have the power that you didn't have.

It definitely has enough power for most folks. I've had mine (335 Sedan 6MT) w/Sport Pkg) about 3 weeks and most often, by the time you're in 3rd you're breaking the speed limit for any state in the US. And that's without even getting close to redline. With the runflats, you also need to be carefull how you apply power as it will lose traction fairly easily in 1st. I am still considering PROcede or Eurobahn just for the heck of it, but I am sure the traction problem will only get more noticeable!

We're happy weith the stock set up but it's really nice to have several options for boosting the output. Even nicer, they'll always be available if I change my mind.

Regarding the police, I use and swear by my trusty V1.

Regards.

I would drive the car first and see how you like it before you start modding it. I think the power will be so much more than what you are used to that you will be happy with it for quite some time in non-modded form. plus, once you start modding a turbo car, it never seems to stop and u have to worry about the warranty, driveability, etc. I went through all of this first hand with a 1.8T GTI that I modded fairly extensively a few years ago.

personally, I am totally happy with the power of the car and it's not even past the 1200 mile break-in so I haven't been able to rev it past 4500 rpms yet. Plus, on most roads by the time you are at 4000 rpms in third, you are already breaking the speed limit. I do wish the exhaust was a bit louder though. I may address that later.

+1 on the detector.
I really depends on how you are. I have an STi and it became slow after a few months, added over 100hp, and 100tq and the smile was there for a longtime. The shifting,it was a smoother power band and it goes like snot, and the best part was I got better mileage. It is a drug and you can go to jail for it if you get caught going a weeee bit too fast. I'm waiting on some feedback to see what the procede is like pros and cons. And it's not how often you can use it it's knowing that it is there and when you do use it it's total satifaction.

Sti is stock now and it really sucks;)
