I got snowed in over the weekend and when i dug myself out, i found a large portion of my coolant on the ground below where my car had been. Today i replaced the water pump, fan clutch, thermostat and flushed the system. Its still doing the same thing as it was before. All 3 hoses by the thermostat are hot, the heat doesnt work and steam comes out the valve on the thermostat housing. The system heats up rather quickly, stays in the safe zone for about 10 minutes, and eventually climbs up into the red. The coolant is bubbling like there might be a pressure loss somewhere in the system. I smelled coolant from the heater a few weeks ago and it has been acting up, but i couldnt find any coolant leaks inside the cabin. anyone have any ideas???? helpppp!

Can't really help much but I'm having similar problems. Can smell coolant but don't see any leaks. Mine hasn't gone into the red yet but I also don't drive long distances. Just waiting for it to get a little warmer to take a look at everything. Let me know if you find a solution.

If you see steam out of the thermostat bleeder then you still have air pockets in your cooling system. This might not be the right way but this is what i did. Pull off the filler cap, undue the thermostat bleeder. get a hose and put in in the coolant resevoir and try and seal it with a rag or WHY... turn on the water and keep it going until coolant comes out of the thermostat bleeder. The car doesn't need to be running. Run the car and make sure the temp stays in check and you have heat in the car, if not repeat the process until you do.... Other posts have said to blow into the resevoir to force the coolant down but i didn't see that procedure until after i did mine. If you want to do mouth to mouth on your car then go ahead but the garden hose worked just as well for me.
