Guess I'm the hypocrite since I haven't posted mine yet, but waiting on my H3 cornering lights hehe. Justbringit41 02-26-2007, 11:44 PM Ugh my wait just started. I have until May until I get my beautiful E92 328i in Saphire Black montego335i 03-01-2007, 11:47 PM I finally got it:redspot . Picked it up Tuesday afternoon. Sorry no pics. By the time I get home from work it is too dark. The car is amazing and has exceeded all my expectation. It is very fast and you easily forget that it is a sedan. My wife's Acura is fast too but it is a totally different animal with the RWD--you just point and go. The turbo lag is not at all noticeable. Although any turbo lag may be masked behind the not so smooth engagement of first gear. I assume it's me not being used to the clutch but I'll give it couple weeks before I yank the CDV if it doesn't improve. The engine produces such a beautiful note that I leave the radio turned off. I yearn for the day I can begin revving it over 4 grand. The handlng, as one would expect from a BMW, is very tight and not at all harsh, considering it has the sport package and run-flats. The seats are very supportive but it took me a while to find a comfortable seating position. I love those adjustable side bolsters. They really do a great job of holding you in place. The one thing I wasn't expecting and took me a little by surprise was all the stuff in the car. The technology packed into this thing is overwhelming. Even without iDrive there are so many customizable settings. On to the Nav, which I got because my wife said that I had to get it. The BMW Nav system is okay. I've gotten used to the Acura Nav which is probably the most intuitive out there so I got a bit spoiled. The symbols to control the BMW system aren't that intuitive and using the iDrive controller is a pain when entering addresses but that's what passengers are for. The real time traffic feature is pretty cool though. It picked up the construction on Rt 1 by Precision Acura (for those who are familiar with this part of NJ) and indicated a resulting 5 minute delay and asked if I wanted to detour. A quick comment on iDrive. If you can program a DVR or use a computer, iDrive shouldn't be a problem. You just have to take the time to learn it and I think a lot of people don't want to be bothered, which I guess I can understand to an extent. But these types of telematics are here to stay. Anyway, enough on iDrive. This post is getting too long as it is. There isn't much to dislike about the car. The steering is heavy at low speeds but you get used to it. The cruise control stalk gets in the way at times. Window controls are a bit too far. But these aren't deal breakers and by no means fatal flaws. The one thing that could be a deal breaker is price. The 335i is expensive but I've always wanted a BMW ever since I was able to drive so the wait and expense was definitely worth it. I am just glad I got my plasma screen last year. No way I would have been allowed to have gotten one of those now. Overall, 2 thumbs up! I love the car. I actually look forward to going to work so that I can drive it. I guess my boss will be happy. Anyway, thanks for letting me give you my 2 cents worth in a long winded way. |
