And, no, I don't have a comfort access. I know there was a post where someone said you can start the car after shutting it off, taking a key out and without touching anything (ex. open doors, lower window, etc) you push the start button and it starts again w/out the key. Put it in the gear and drive it as well (tried it). One cool thing about it is, that without the key in ignition and car running you can lock all four doors. It comes handy during the cold days for warmup, since when the key is in ignition, you can't lock the driver's side door. But haven't seen anything about it in owner's manual.

the ews system allows the vehicle to be restarted if the key falls out during driving, this is a safty feature, not a conveince feature.

I would guess that this was intentional. If not, it makes logical sense again, just as starting the car after shutting it off and removing the key without getting out. The car is running and with the fob being able to fall out (safety reason) it would make sense that the electrical wouldn't be affected. Good find for those who don't have CA.
