I am in Houston, and the weather and road are just as weird as DFW, ATX, and SA. In your opinion what works best and why. I am coming up on an oil change this weekend. What brand weight and filter.

I have read ours post out side the Texas section and it was NO where relevant to Texas rain, heat, and coldfronts.

Thanks in advance

i run 0w40 mobil 1 when it gets fairly warm, about 60 or higher. when it gets cooler i mix in 2 quarts of 5w30 but recently i've been lazy and just have been running 0w40 all the time.

I use Amsoil and have had really good experiences with the European formula. The link above is where I get it from. Tell him Ruben sent you and he can get it to you for pretty close to wholesale. He might even be able to get it to you for wholesale.
