Quick question....

I just checked the pressure in my tires and determined that the pressure was a little low in the front and rear. Specs for the 540i call for 35psi in the front and 39psi for the rear. I set the pressure accordingly while the tires were cold.

What I'm noticing now is that when I "get on it" in 1st gear I'm feeling some wheel hop in the rear wheels. This morning I even noticed the hop going from 1st to 2nd and also going ito 3rd.

Would it make sense to drop the psi in the rears by 5 to reduce the wheel hop? Can over-inflation be a root cause of wheel hop?
