A mint shell runs around $5000.

A used S14 is around $3000, and a transmission is around $500. So, for $8500 you have a functioning car.

An M3 with an S38 is worth something. You could probably sell it for at least 12-16k depending on the mileage of the S38 and what other modifications and maintenance you do. With an M30, it won't be worth much. It's not even a Motorsport engine.

True. Way better choices than the M30...S50(cringe), S38(cringe but slightly less), S14(nod nod wink wink).

well if the M30 fits and some day a turbo its all a matter of opinion..

Might know of one coming available soon. My cousin is just about ready to do a s52 swap. I know he was probably gonna post it for sale at around 3000. Motor is located in NYC. Not on the other side of the world but you might want to look into shipping. He has had a couple of inquiries about it already and its not even pulled yet. Mileage is at 160,000 I believe. I will try and get you more specifics if possible.

correct me if I am wrong but didnt Alpina use the M30 as a base to thier M3, I mean M30's can make stupid reliable power. Personaly S14 or S38 all the way, gotta keep a Motorsport engine in there.

So i found a local shop that is considering doing the swap...i asked for an estimate and they are gonna get back to me...so if i have everything except a few small things batt.starter etc..how much is this going to cost..like 1-2 days by 3 BMW trained guys.. like maybe 700-1500 ??
