Hey Fellow Utah BMW owners, I've been on this site for a while but never noticed others from Utah.
OK, so I was reading this post

Quote:
if the light stays on for aprox 2 mins then goes out, don't worry, the airbag is fine, it was a faulty sensor (seatbelt or maybe you turned on the electrics while the gauge cluster was removed. Either way, you're fine, the light is reset either by the dealer or any reputable BMW specialist.Quote:

Ditto, happened to me when I replaced the battery on my 540. No idea why, the key wasn't in the ignition. Local shop reset it for me for free.

Anyone know of someone or a place that will reset it for free? I've only gone to BMW of Murray once for a little part for my car to be charged a ton, but they did give me my stereo code for free.

also anyone know of a good shop, hopefully one that doesn't charge too much that could help me locate the cause of a RPM drop but no speed loss when under light acceleration or a slight hill at freeway speed?
Thanks

I just bit the bullet and bought a Peake SRS tool. It was $135 shipped from Turner Motorsport. I have no idea how much BMW of Murry charges to do the reset, but I've been told I'll have the tool paid for in no time.

Ya, that would be great! It would get me one step closer to getting all the little things fixed on my car that have been bugging me. Thanks.

I say we call a mini meet perhaps, I'll ask a few of those friends I know and see what they think.

Cool, Thanks.
It would be fun to meet up with others that love their BMW's. I've also always been curious as to how my car's running compaired to another Beammer. Maybe get some cool idea's to things people have done. I"m alway's seeing bone stock BMW's around, and then sometimes, riced out ones that i just shutter at the thought of someone doing that to such a nice car. Then once in a long while I"ll spot a car that makes me almost drool! like the dark blue M3 I saw last week. Heavy mods, but very tastfuly done.
