And that is the way we like it. I was in Houston last week. I thought Dallas was bad- Houston is 10 times worse. Tyler is 10 times better than Dallas (that is unless you thrive on nightlife).

1st place was an insanely clean greymarket e24 M6.
an e30 in 3rd place? was there a restriction that to place, you must be slower than a '96 maxima? The 96 Maxima does 0-60 in 6.6 and 1/4 in 15.1. My e30 did the same in 5.8, 14.0

catch my sarcasm there...

btw, 14.0 isn't dyno... look at supras, look at automatic v8s with large stalls.... you can't directly translate dyno to 1/4 mile...

and 14's aren't fast... at all...

Stück
02-24-2007, 09:17 AM
Thats an actual 1/4 mile time, not a "dyno" time. It was 14.012 or some shit. 14.0 is fine for me. That time was also recorded long before I put my heavily worked head and headers on, I suspect 13.6 would have been attainable.

14 for NA m20 powered e30 in street trim is FAST. Faster then your heap'0 e36

yes, i know that a 14 is the actual 1/4 mile time, not dyno time.. i'm stating they're not the same because you brought up track times in a dyno thread, and the two are not related... take a 1000+hp supra and a 400hp domestic v8 and see if there is any correlation between the dyno time and 1/4 time...

14.0 still isn't fast... i don't care if you're in an F-16 or if you're running barefoot down the track, dragging 14 manatees behind you... a 14 is still nothing worth bringing up in any situation.. i know what the 14s are, i know what 13.6's are, i know what 12.8s are because i used to run those stock, i know what 11s are because i used to run those modded... you can break it down... "14 for NA m20 powered e30 in street trim with custom orange paint and only a passenger floor mat and one tire with air pressure at 32psi and the rest at 31psi is really fast".... in the same respect, we'll say that you're the smartest and best looking guy on bf.c in the texas forum who drives a silver e36 that only has genuine BMW windshields and has an umlaut over a letter in your name.... do you feel accomplished now?

and i've never claimed my e36 is fast... because guess what... it's NOT!

Fact of the matter is that e30 was well sorted machine that was driven very hard, and still took home trophies at shows... despite fixed odds. Its value goes far beyond its 1/4mi speed.. upon which only a moron would rate a car.

Sad but true, isn't it? I think the Texas subforum is the only one that has to have the "How to Ignore Other Users..' thread stickied... Pretty pathetic. It used to be about helping each other and was a great subforum for advice and local contacts, now it seems like it's just about peeing the farthest. :(

I would like to take the day trip to Tyler though. I've never been to BMP, and if the weather is nice it will be a lot of fun.

Going back to the subject of who won last year, the lady in the bronzit E24 took first place; her car was "restored" by BMP, now you know the real story... I took 2nd with my grey market M6, none of us expected her to place nowhere and honestly there was an 88' M6 that i thought it was cleaner than mine. Your car was very nice and we all (the San Antonio crowd) expected to see you near the top for prizes. I really don't know if this people's choice judging was all that fair but I guess that's the price we all pay if we don't have too many friends around the area... We'll be there again this year!!!!!

so what is this BMP event?

Stück

Really it is a gathering of their local customer base. Last year I would say about 90% of BMW's in attendance were bone stock, ranging from road going parts cars to near creampuff condition.. the vast majority being on the well used side.

The remaining 8% were mildly to highly modified. Only 5 or so truly modified BMW's showed up, my e30 included.

Oh.. and the last 2% of so consisted of several ricer styled e30's.

and of course there were 40-50 some odd Mini Coopers in attendance as well.

There was an annoying DJ, raffle prizes, games/contests (via the DJ) and likely the most redeeming item... BMP opened their catalog to all in attendance to at or just above cost pricing. BMP also had a back parking lot full of discontinued, returned and factory second type items for sale on the cheap. I bought a set of BMP (Breyton) fiberglass sideskirts for my girlfriends e30 for $20, which are normally like $300, because of some gelcoat imperfections that took 20mins to correct.

Here are BMP's lousy assortment of photos from last years event.

Word .
The whole Bert's crowd make up for about 90% of the rice/tasteless action going on out at BMP .

90%, hardly. So you dont like 2 out of the 7 cars that we went with, last time i checked my elementry math, that wasnt 90%.

Actually I dislike all 7 of your cars . That makes 100% of Berts cars .

You should also check your elementry spelling while you are at it .

So you didnt like the M6 that one 1st place and the 2002tii that won 2nd place in the classic car division? What about the 4 door blue M3? You are mad if you didnt like any of those. That M6 and 2002tii are ftw

This isn't the first time this jackass has told me how to think when it comes to not liking the riced out turds Bert's crew show up with. By now any tolerance I had for his ignant ass has long since moved on.

There is not a single thing on that red car worth salvaging. I love how last year he had the same 18x7's with 225's (complete with sick widebody) and a whole year has passed.. still rollin on 225's. The only thing he changed was the red stripes which just look suuuuppper.

I ran 255/245 on my e30, stock fenderwork.

Nope, there thinner now since he dialed his car down more. Tolerance, when did you have tolerance for me? lol. So you went this year or not? Where you the little dude wearing the blue bmw f1 shirt? I was looking for you but wasnt sure who you were, because we were all waiting to talk to you.

Why would tires not be in my list when they are an upgrade? I list any upgrade that i have on my car. Whats wrong with typos, we all do them. Dont be afraid to show off what you have on your car. You know, some people will see the tires i have and ask if i like them or not, thats another advantage of having them on my list.

i don't see your spark plugs, wiper blades, oil, headlight bulbs, etc in there...

it's idiotic.. it's not a mod, it's a replacement... i think your rims as a negative can be said to accurately counter your tires as a calimed positive... so we'll agree that you take both out of your sig as the cancel each other out... if only removing them off the car itself were as easy...

Well i did put my xtec's in there if you didnt notice. There isnt enough room for smaller things. I do have bosch icon's for wipers, and yes i like them. Rims are what i was feeling a few years ago, i have been shoping for some kosei's or those new rims from turner.

Where's Maranelloman when you need him with the "arguing on the Internet is like wining at the Special Olympics" pic? Oh yeah, his license is revoked.

This thread is ridiculous. Somebody needs to step up and be mature around here. I won't say this behavior wasn't one reason why I didn't go to this event (enough negatives in that sentence?).

Um, why not, if you look at Bert 2002tii, you can see the great shape that its in. I would suggest to look at it. Bert was the one whom i got it from. He owns a local euro shop down here that does great mechanic work. That is why i told Stuck to please not bash Berts name as he only owns the one car, not all of the other ones that yall dislike. Here is his car at Hot Summer Nights in Houston.

True, thats why i was hoping to run into Stuck and some of the other guys at the event instead of talking to people who hide behind keyboards.

Appreciate the comment.
It was his first BMW when he bought it around 20 or so. Since then he has been a mechanic and now owns a euro shop capable of working on most cars and specializing in BMW's. So you see guys, dont say "Berts crap" and stuff like that. Hate a persons car, not their friends that their associated with. I would still appreciate it though if yall werent so harsh on people. Hey, theres different colors for different people. Not everyone likes black, but some people do. My friends with the red e30 and supercharged m3 arent of this forum, so dont bring them into it. If they wanted to be made fun of, they would have joined up to listen to childish comments. Keep the comments to people in the forums please. Throw them at me, i dont mind. lol. I can take some stuff in good taste.

The 4 door M3 is mine and I will say that the rims are Moven A/C reps and I only slapped those on to make long trips and daily driving stuff because my stock wheels have track tires on them. Besides that they werent on E-bay I bought them from a site sponsor from here.

You guys are entitled to your opinion but I gotta say that the stock looking cars out there weren't even worthy of photos especially the avus and other estoril. I saw countless people taking pics of my car and engine. The other cars didn't even have thier hood open. Probably because it was nasty filthy dirty and stock looking. If people wanted to see stock M3's they would goto the dealer or some used car lot.

I can at least say that I have more in my car than most of your cars are worth. BTW my bilstein pss9's, turner chip, reiger lip off the car, powerflex rtabs, bmp rsm's, samco hoses, spal elect. fan, and numerous other parts are most definately not E-bay. If you think my car is ugly you are in the wrong forum because it doesn't look too different than yours.
