Guys, I'm just too busy to search myself. Does anyone know where I could get the Rogue Engineering exhaust with the best quality service at a cheap price?

I live in Hampton Beach NH and hopefully you guys know anywhere near that might be of good service.

thanks for the help!

got any sound clips/movies of yours Ron? I know its not like hearing the real thing.... but I dont know anyone nearby that has it. I love the sound, but I have heard some bad things on the forums (fitment issues...)

NiTE,

no sound clips unfortunately, I never thought of doing that. new project when I get back I guess. :) It doesn't drone when cruising the highway or local. Some people have talked about it, droning but I don't have that issue or I don't know what to look for.

But it does burble....you know what I'm talking about here. It's got that awesome burbling sound that just makes everyone's head turn when your rolling down a street to see what that monster is coming down the avenue. We're talking big time attention getter with sound here, if you don't want to be noticed...you don't want this system. :D

Fitment issues? :95 Never with the Rogue, it's a perfect install every time. It comes as a two piece kit so it's even easier to install by yourself on your back in your garage under your car. Maybe you're thinking of the other dual can system on the market? That one was redesigned because of fitment problems.

The sound is very very very aggresive, that's one reason why I like it. It's not honda obnoxious in any way, it's nice and deep and puts other systems to shame. After I heard this system, I took off my SuperSprint and installed this one and I haven't looked back.

I compare it to having a new mustang V8 growl with a german accent. Very nice and very commanding. The view of the dual polished stainless steel cans is also a nice site from behind the car.

I've yet to hear this system with my 3.2, but the 2.5 was just crazy. I have several people in my area now who own one simply from hearing/seeing my car on local roads. They were sold on site. :D

I know the bavauto show (by you) had several cars with this system, that would have been your best bet. :( Maybe when there is a big North East meet you can see a couple systems running around.

If I can get one for my Tahoe (believe me I tried) I would have one on there too!

f*ck, f*ck, f*ck.... looks like its illegal in new hampshire to have any exhaust that is louder than stock... anyone have problems with cops ticketing them for that? Grrrrr.... so gay....

hey?!

I thought you guys say "Live Free or Die!"

doesn't that apply to freeing up your exhaust too?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. There are plenty of riced out Honda's, and such, with coffee can exhaust, for cops to mess with!!

SUPERSPRINT

themadhatter
02-08-2003, 06:58 PM
excellent choice Jon, there is always a supersprint, much quieter and still a sporting exhaust if you're concerned about noise levels.

always a nice choice but a little heavy when compared to the newer designed systems. I used to have one and it sounds really good when you whind out the motor - I had it on my when it was dynoed and standing behind the car at 131mph (indicated on the speedo but strapped down on the machine) just made the hairs on my neck stand on end - it was great. Wish I had the rogue then, but there is always round 2.

the RE get's its sound (just a guess here) by the two cans being a straight through design with stainless steel wool packed into the cans around the perforated exhaust tube in the can.

a great sounding systems either way you look at it.

now the problem, BMP, the distributer aren't a favorite of mine when doing business.

Yea Ron, I heard a brief clip of the RE on Ben's 330ti...but I think i need to hear your car when its ready. HMS sells a Supersprint pipe for an M50 Ti that utilizes the exhaust I have, but I am definitely going to look into an RE in case it is too restrictive for the 3.2. The dual cans would look sweeet on the hatch :)

Im thinking about stromung too, sounds really deep in the low RPMs. Dado's Brullen exhaust is really nice... I was watching mischief 3000 yesterday, its supposed to be really loud though

Jon,

when you see my car, you'll be able to make a pretty good decision.

It'll have a set of HIOP headers, 3.2 down pips/cats and the Rogue DMS.

I just picked up a conforti intake recently too on ebay. :)

You're going 3.2 OBD-I, right?

Vitolo
02-09-2003, 03:33 PM
Ron

Im looking forward to seeing your ride in completion. I plan on doing the headers, intake, etc etc as well. Im definitely doing a 3.2. Ultimately the car will be OBD1, it just depends on how much I have to spend when the time comes. Worst case scenario I run OBD2 for a little while. We dont have any emissions/inspections in FL so I can get away with anything I want.

themadhatter
02-09-2003, 03:38 PM
damn, sounds like I need to buy an address in Florida then. It'll go nicely with those mail order handgun permits they have too. ;)

Supersprint should be a serious consideration but they just aren't light like the other systems on the market. I'd take a freer flowing system with less weight over a freer flowing system with more weight.

Of course we know that lighter weight usually means much louder and this would work great with the logic of the SS system.

Let me know if you really go OBD-I later, I'm considering it if I actually pick up property out of NJ (epa nazis here)- maybe we can help each other sourcing the parts?

The only thing is, my car already HAS a supersprint. I like the sound/look of it, so the RE would have to giv4e a good power increase and be liveable(I dont like it too loud) for everyday driving as I do 25k miles a yr. Not to mention the added weight of the SS would help keep the Ti's light ass planted a little bit better.

I saw all THIS (http://www.hmsmotorsport.com/newstore.php?m=6&sub=1007) stuff on the HMS website which interests me. I dont feel like doing a custom hack job, and I could use most of the stuff I already have, thus saving more money towards that OBD1 ;)

themadhatter

supersprint makes those kits as well as the E30 w/ M50 motor swap exhaust too. take into consideration that there will be some hacking required to get those parts to fit though. Nothing a hacksaw and a few exhaust clamps can't fix. :D

it's pretty good stuff, but like I said, you'll have to see/hear mine to make a fair judgement.

Of course you know that Ben's car was done by himself (at least the design was), I don't know how custom it is though.

With 25k miles a year, I can see your concern. I was doing about 20,000 miles a year before I bought my Tahoe to split the milage between the two.

When you finally get around to the OBD-I conversion...hold on tight! You're going to want to get the MCoupe/Roadster Rear subframe for the Ti, it's the BEST rear suspension upgrade you can start with.

-----

...anybody want this thread split?

Vitolo
02-09-2003, 06:08 PM
Youre right Ron, I planned on doing the rear subframe, which is the main reason ive been looking for a wrecked M coupe/ster as the donor car. Not to mention I need the brakes, gauge cluster, radiator, motor mounts, steering rack, tranny, etc etc so it would be easier(not to mention cheaper) to get it all at once rather than try to source separate parts. If I had all the parts I need at hand, I could spend a few days straight in dads shop converting it, while only emerging for food until its done :)

Cool, thanks Ron. Ill drop him a line

Yes, my family owns a 3000 unit storage facility, so have some of our own space to keep all the toys and tools. Come to FL and you are more than welcome to come wrench with me ;)

themadhatter

Sure thing - send me a ticket outa this backwards country and I'll be on the first plane out! :)

Torre is located in Utica NY - it was a 10 hour drive for me there and back with a Trailer on my Truck but worth every penny as he had the best selection of hardware for what I needed.

JV,

Won't the Getrag from the 318 bolt up to an s52? Its the same tranny that is in my car.

That saves you from the cost of a tranny. You can just get a LTW flywheel and M3 clutch to compliment your new found power. :devillook

I will come down and wrench on the project with out a doubt. :buttrock

themadhatter
02-12-2003, 04:56 PM
that's correct. speaking of which, if you need an M3 clutch, pressure plate, flywheel on the pinch, let me know. I've upgraded all my stuff to rogue hardware already. :)
