valvesprung 03-07-2007, 03:46 PM I'm not familiar with which car came with these. I have a '99 528 w/ the sport package/shadowline trim. Do you know if it would've had this?

yeah, if you have the 'sport' package, you likely already have this thicker swaybar. this is mainly for those that didn't get the 'sport' package but would like to upgrade to a thicker swaybar.
valvesprung 03-07-2007, 08:42 PM Thanks.
Another free bump :D

bwo1525 05-01-2007, 12:46 AM is this sway bar still available? will it fit on a 1999 528i? any added benefit of having this on a non sport 528i?

Yes, still available.
It will fit your car without any modifications. You just have to swap the included bushings and the swaybar. Install takes 10 minutes once the car is on ramps or a lift.
The added benefit for non-sport E39 is a thicker and stiffer rear swaybar. This helps reduce understeer in fast corners and neutralizes some of the rear end weight transfer.

I know some people with a 528 used M5 rear sway bars. are these similar to M5 ones?

The M5 rear swaybar is even thicker than the "sports" rear swaybar. This one is sort of "middle of the ground."
