Does adding an aftermarket header such as the Ireland Engineering E36 header add any significant HP to the S52? From looking at the headers they appear to have a better fitment around the swaybar than the factory 97 headers that came on the engine.

I don't mind having to fab up the down pipes to the stock exhaust system so that's not a concern.

Don't bother, S52 headers are fine. If it's a fitment issue though, do what you have to do.
