Hi guys. The 328i was declared a total loss on Wednesday, and the insurance company is definately NOT fixing it. It's Montreal Blue metallic, with dove grey MONTANA leather. Montana is thicker, and more durable, yet softer, and lasts longer. The only damage to the car was a side impact on the very front of the car. Basically, the nose, bumper and bumper cover, hood, passenger side fender, and core support are all toast, but everything (and I mean everything) else is in mint condition.
The M52B28 engine has only 78,000 original miles on it, and has always had a crankcase full of Amsoil. It runs perfectly. The tranny is topped off with Amsoil synthetic, and has never missed a shift. The rear diff also has Amsoil in it as well. The only engine damage was to the refrigerant resevior, which got punctured.
The interior is perfect. It has the premium package, and the cold weather package. No rips or tears anywhere, the front seats are both power and heated, non-sport seats, but very comfortable. The dash is perfect. The console is perfect. The exhaust obviously has lots of life left. The midpipes could go to a 323 driver. The actual exhaust I may keep, since it's Dinan and resale isn't much. Everything in this car works. The A/C works. The 18 button OBC works. The CEL hasn't been on in 20k miles.
Every inch of this car from the front doors back is absolutely perfect. What I'm wondering is if anyone (locally would be ideal) wants to buy this straight across. I have to decide (soon) if I'm going to buy it back from the insurance company in the next day or two, so any response is welcome.
Let's not ask me how much for a certain piece yet. I need to decide first if I should buy it back, and second if there's any interest in the car whole, and if not, then it's part out time. Thanks. PM's are also welcome. This car is located in Portland, OR right now.
Edited: It's no longer a feeler thread! The car is mine Monday, March 5th!

Sad to hear about such a low mileage, well cared for car being declared a total loss... must be painful! If you decide to part, I'd be interested in a few things.

I'll let you all know if I'm going to keep it or not. I've got some people interested in buying some stuff for it so far. The console is in 100% perfect shape. You have no idea how hard it was to lose this beauty. You can't even find a car like this one anymore! At least, not without spending 15,000. Damnit!

It sounds like the car is in alright shape. I've seen a few people on here that are trying to get rid of rolling chassis that have clean titles. If you could locate a shell and have the time, I would look into swapping everything over, that is if you want another e36. You car sounded so nice that it should stay together.

I would like to do that, but frankly, I don't have that much time. If I couldn't find an OBDII car, that means every single piece of diagnostics would have to come with me, as well as most of the wiring. It would take many weeks to do something like that (with the amount of spare time I have.) Anyway, if anyone has any questions, or would like pictures of the car (now/before it was totalled) please PM me with your email and I'll get those to you. Thanks!

i would be interested in your engine and wiring harness, and possibly trans, all depending on price.

Guys, the car will be in my possession starting Monday (should've been today, but the insurance man is a douche). Anyway, I'll be posting pictures of the damage possibly monday afternoon, more likely Tuesday afternoon. I would really like to get rid of the entire car if at all possible. I'm looking to sell it for $3500. If you have questions, PM me after you read the long description at the top of the page. I will be taking parting offers after I have had entire car offers first. Thanks, and check back for pics early next week!
