Hello All,
My 2000 540i/6 with 102k miles has developed a small oil seep that appears to be coming from under the oil filter housing. I looked at the hoses running into that, and it doesn't look like anything that can be tightened. The top seems good and tight. It's not a major leak, but it does leave oil spots on my driveway, and it does seem to be getting slowly bigger. I just got an oil change, and I would like to blame this on my mechanic, but to be honest it had started before he changed the oil. He said he'd be glad to look at it, but I just wondered if there was something simple I could do to avoid the downtime of service. Any thoughts greatly appreciated!
