I just got a set of beautiful recaros from a 77 320i for my 1983 320i everything looks good except 1. i don't know what to do about my seatbelt connector if i put the seats in i have no connector, i was thinking i could just snatch the whole railing off the original seats but i don't know, 2. the whole railing thing i just need some help installing this. i am doing all of this myself and i am only 18 still in high school. I NEED SOME HELP. Just anything will do. please help me. I would gladly appreciate it.

there might be a little mounting tab coming out the side of the recaro's seat rail (it may look like a short bracket with a hole in it). If it has that tab, you can unbolt the seatbelt buckle from your stock seats & bolt it onto that tab on the rail.

If that tab isn't there, it should be integraded into your stock seat rails (that's where I currently have my buckles bolted to)...and I think someone had mentioned that the recaro's can bolt onto the stock seat rails.

Heres the thing, on the stock seats the connector part is built into the seat like its apart of the lever, to let the seat down. Now can i can take the connector from my stock seats, or should i just take the whole braket from my stock seats and bolt it to the new ones beaceuse it looks like on the recaros that the bracket on the stock seats can fit on the railing of the recaros.

What year are the original seats from?
The later "big boy" seats and the e21 recaros have seat rails that are interchangeable.

On the inside part of each of you regular seats the seat belt connectors are intergrated with the frame rails.

When you look at your car the floor of the car should be higher on the outside and lower on the inside - thats cause the frame rails are reinforced where the seat belt female adaptors go. On the inside...

Use a 8 or 10 mm socket, flip over the stock seats and remove the frame rails with the seat belt connectors. They should bolt directly up to the e21 recaro bottoms.

It seems like the recaros had these removed.
Post some pics....

Ok.
You actually have the correct mounting brackets for the seat belts on the bottom of the recaros. Some noob removed them.

Got to the yard and get e21 mounting brackets from an later model style e21.
Thats all you need. They should be interchangeable.

Otherwise look on ebay.....

If the recaro's are from a 77 then they would not have the seat belts on them. 77-78 the seat belts bolted to the car and not the seat rail like in 79+ to solve my problem I just used the buckle from my rear seat belt and just attached it to the rear bolt on the seat mount. the right side is built up as stated above so it wasn't an issue using a rear buckle here.

I had to do this since I swapped my recaros from the 320i into the Baur and the crappy Scheel seat in the baur had to go in the 320. the buckle with the Scheel seat didn't work on a 79 stock seat belt since the tabs are different so I was forced to use a rear belt buckle I salvaged off a parts car...
