View Full Version : Diggin' the P21S Carnuba paste...

I've been using synthetics, but man this P21S Carbuba paste wax is great. It would seem that the tub is gonna last years. It goes on quickly and turns to liquid in your hands, and buffs off after only a few minutes on the car. I know a lot of guys use it, but I'd never tried it before. I can't see how Zymol's Carbon or other high end waxes could be that much better, especially with this stuff being around $31 for the tub.

Anyways, just thought I'd share... I know it doesn't last more than a couple months, but this little M Roadster gets a fresh wax job monthly... one year of waxing it monthly is like waxing an SUV twice a year :)

Some cars/finishes seem to be spectacular with one type of wax and another car can be just average with the same combo so it's strange how it works.
I've read how some say P21S was ok but not spectacular and others have had a huge success like you did. I guess that's why we experiment all the time.
If I were you, I'd guard that tub of P21S with my life because it's doing an amazing job on your Z4M. That look is as wet and deep as I've seen and it's hard to believe it could be any better.
How do you get between the spokes of the wheels to clean them perfectly like that?
Great work and thanks for posting those pics.

Thanks John for the kind words... I am very pleased with the results considering it only takes about 20-30 minutes to do the entire car, vs. hours for the multi-step Zaino process. I have a chennile (sp?) sponge that I use for the car and one I use for the wheels... I just jam it between the spokes with soap and water and run it through... quick and easy. No real technique per se, but I'm trying to think of a way to make a tool to better clean between the spokes...

Thanks,
Adam

Looks good on your car.

You can use the P21S on top of the synthetic wax. Sort of the best of both worlds.

I should add that this is just P21S on top of the factory finish... no clay, no polish, no paint prep, nothing but a clean car and a coat of P21S... so if you're looking for some pretty nice results without much work, this is the way to go IMO :)

the car looks good, but then again its also pretty easy to make fairly new car look good. plus the pics are taken in the shade which does an amazing job at hiding any imperfections that might exist.

i always take pics of my car in the shade. :paranoid:

Adam,

That M Roadster looks awesome! I noticed that the wheels look perfect too. Did you wax them also?

Yes, that's the way I do it. Usually P21S or Pinnacle Souveran layered over top of Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant. It looks fantastic.

Don't forget that P21S is by far one of the easiest Carnaubas to apply on the market! Easier than butter on car paint!

I have been using S-100 for a long time. Same stuff as the P2-1S but at half the price. Give it a try sometime.

same here. it's a great wax and does wonders for dark colored cars.

it makes my estoril paint more viberant, but it really made my old avus m3 shine like crazy.

werd its some real good stuff- ive been using s100 for a couple months

And this is correct, s100 is the same wax as p21s except that s100 is advertised toward motercycle owners, which makes it 12.99 compared to 30.00 :D Next time save some money and just buy the S100 carnuba

Rumor has it on autopia that there is a "slight" difference between P21S and S100. I'm sure not enough for the price difference.

You guys should try Poor Boy's Natty's Blue paste wax at $15. It has even better depth than P21S and lasts a bit longer.

Yup the P21s/S100 GEPC and wax paste are both so easy to apply and the results are top notch. The craziest, deepest shine I ever achieved was with the Klasse twins topped with a layer of P21s wax.
