I don't know, Wha, sometimes it certainly looks that way. Heck, I can usually count all the girls in all my classes each semester combined on one hand. (and no, I don't have extra fingers) This semester, it is 3, a real bumper crop. Heck, one semester there were none. Zero. Those that remain are more "another one of the guys" than women. Here is a good example: one time, I was over at a party, and I was talking with one of these ladies. She was in my machine design class, if I recall right, not a knockout, but nice looking, probably a 7 on the Tech scale. She was drinking a beer, (can) and when she finished, she pulled a Bluto and crushed the can on her forehead, and proceeded to release a ground-rumbling belch. Now, certainly, not all of them are so... shall we say "manly"... but quite a few.

It's not like my major is particularly daunting. (MechE) Nor is it filled with greasy, smelly, WoW addicts unlike some other majors. There are two places where I have seen even a modicum of gender parity, Management and LCC, big shocker there.

So while the adage of "the goods are odd..." is most assuredly true, the "goods are odd" part certainly applies to a significant portion of the women here, as well. Of course, if I wanted a blonde bimbo, I could go to UGA and snag a sorostitute. The odd goods are usually the more interesting. :)

Years later, I had that same sensation when Janet Reno showed up.

I had a contract job a couple years ago where they had a cutie summer intern named Danielle from Tech. Leaps and bounds better than anything other than the cheerleaders when my brother was there.
