Can I get some suggestions on some good driving roads in Washington county? I'm especially interested in roads close to Hillsboro, so that I can do some driving during lunch hour.

^Word up.

Damn near killed myself there this week because of an ahole in an old toyota truck. I put my OBC timer to use on that bad boy.

Skyline Road isn't to shabby west of Forest Heights, it brings you right to Germantown, and then if you turn right when you get to a four way intersection theres more road and some places to go off road if you have a truck and no ones watching.

Newberry off of skyline is fun Uphill, be weary downhill there are two off camber hairpins that will throw you off the road.

Old germantown is fun at night. Old cornelious Pass is good stuff aswell. Any of those small roads off the end of skyline are fun. All my friends live out there and I know them pretty well, if some one ever wants to go driving with me out there Im game.

ya the roads out past vernonia rule...i took one which was probably a 20 minute ride(once i got past vernonia) and eventually hooked up with highway 30...would probably be a 30-40 minute DRIVE....NO traffic whatsoever...thats the problem with germantown, horrible traffic, and gravel(for riders)...i take it every friday to work to avoid rush hour

we should do a drive out to vernonia. I'm really curious to see these roads. Also I've actually taken a broom with me to Germantown and swept corners.... :alright

I think that the ultimate cool would be for us come up with the best roads list around portland (not just wash co). Then, when we have a list of a bunch of roads listed, see if we can connect them into a loop or a network of loops. e.g. a SE multnomah loop, and a washington county loop, etc...

Judged by the response of this thread though, I think that might be a little ambitious (not much variety on the recommendations... everybody recommended germantown and vernonia).

i dunno... maybe somebody has already done this... somebody like the porsche club or miata folks. I couldnt find anything on google though. "best driving roads" just kept bringing up scenic routes.

the long loop...26W out to vernonia, out to highway 30, East to Cornelius Pass or Germantown if you so please, then end up back in Hillsboro
