My new 1992 525i. The differential needs a 14mm hex. Mine is too long. any suggestions for what to use? Get one at autozone, etc? Are Pittman arms hard to replace? Get a bentley manual or any good web sites for diy?
Thanks

why not cut the allen key down?, can always use a spanner to turn it if youve got no leverage, or slide a small long pipe over the end for more leverage

There should be a Bentley .pdf on here. Do a search... if you can't find it, PM me:)

Hmm... can you PM me? I don't know what the post limit is set at. Post your e-mail if you can't and I'll send you a searchable one and the full thing.

ditto about searching for the Bentley...a board member just posted a link to a PDF file of the Bentley that has full search funtion not to long ago.

Just to see how easy it was to find...I clicked the search link and typed "searchable Bentley" and sure enough...it came up...here it is: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=8425837&postcount=1

Again...what makes this one better than one that was posted ealier...is this one has full search function. The other one you had to go thru the file one page at a time. This one...you can click on the "binocular" icon which will open up a dialog box...so you can type a key word that will search through the whole Bentley file for every use of that word or phrase. Which is schweeeet! It's better/faster than having the paper Bentley...and there's no oil stained pages...you can print them out and take them with you to the garage...then throw them away when you're done. ;)

You can also burn the file to a disk to throw in your glovebox or a flash drive...so in case you run into an issue out of town or on the road...all you need is access to someones CPU...and you can look up repair info. ;) :D ;)
