Creation’s Wide Wheel Work At Barcelona
David López took these images (below) of Creation Autosportif’s first track test of its wide-wheeled, hybrid CA06/H - at Barcelona yesterday (February 19). That was the first day of a two day test, with the track booked for a DTM test from Wednesday.
Jamie Campbell-Walter carried out most of the work on Monday, but Thomas Serwin is present as well, and has been clocking up the miles too.
Rather than referring to the Creation team, it would be more appropriate to call them a manufacturer now, so for Creation (the manufacturer) it’s been a busy start to the year, and this chassis (Creation’s original LMES car), has been hurriedly built up into wide-wheeled spec., because the other one is obviously destined for Sebring, for Intersport.
This is really the first stage of the manufacturer’s testing programme, ahead of the debut of the new LMP1 tub for European racing this year - and the use of the wider wheel spec. in the ALMS.
“We had a few minor issues yesterday,” comments Mike Jankowski, “such as with the power steering and a slight porpoising, but it’s going well today. Jamie (C-W) isn’t pushing at all yet, but he’s already set a time comparable to the last time we were here.
“We’ve had no problems at all with the wider wheel spec.”

That's sweet to see teams staying with the real big boy prototypes.

I believe Creation is moving just down the road from VIR to setup their ALMS operation.
