Dear fellow BMW owners. I just purchased a 1999 318ti a few weeks ago. I really like it. today my engine light went on. can anyone help me to determinw what the cause can be.

Go to autozone and borrow their OBDII scanner, the OBDII port is in the drivers side footwell under the dash. It takes 5 minutes and then you'll know where to start. Nobody will be able to give you any useful advice without the codes. Be sure to write everything down before clearing them.
