Hello all. First post. My cousin has a '03 z4 and recently asked me about getting an aftermarket HID kit for it. I did a bit of research for him and figured out that he'll need a kit that'll fit his h7 light socket.

When I looked on ebay, I came across an auction that stated that not all h7 HID kits will work with the z4. I e-mailed the seller as to why that is and the following was his reply:

1.Because all other H7 kits do not come with solution for metal clip.
2. Because all other H7 kits' ballasts cannot fit error message problem.


Anyway, I eventually found my way to this forum and am hoping you all can give me some simple advice.

1) Is there really a "metal clip" problem and "error message" problem to overcome when installing aftermarket HIDs on a z4?
2) If so, will the KDW or PROLUMEN hid kits that are currently being sold in the group deals forums fit my cousin's z4 w/o any problems or error message?
