I looove this car!

Just bought it last weekend, and had a LONG day of:

Handwashing
Claybar-ing
Cutting
Polishing
and
Handwaxing

The results are SOOO worth it.

The car is in IMMACULATE condition as it is, i didn't think the paint could get any better. But now it looks like the damn thing just came off the boat.

On my laundry list?

New 30% tint all around weekend after next.
New driver's side fog.
Smoked signals and side markers.
Newer Homelink unit.

Here she is!

Floors are dirty. I didn't have the energy to vacuum after everything else we did to the car today.

Now it's time to go make a signature!

I do need to give a HUGE thank you to my wonderful man, Stück! If it wasn't for his awesome detailing talents this car would look NOTHING like it does now. My ADD would have kicked in after the first fender and hood were claybar-ed! Thanks babe!

Black BMWs are the cat's meow....they look beautiful when polished but need constant attention to keep them looking pretty, so prepare yourself for lots of washing and drying. I like the 'basket weave' rims on your car, although they might not look so cool on another color...have fun keeping them clean...buy a brush and it will be a lot easier.

You will probably have to strip the tint from the rear window as it is showing lots of bubbles. A professional install by a shop which knows what it is doing will cure the problem and make the car look so much better.

Don't I know! My e30 was black on black. At least with this e38 I am starting off with really great paint. My poor little e30 never stood a chance, and it was alway so depressing taking care of it. All that work just to uncover more dents and scratches. :) This time it was very rewarding. It was like finding a brand new car under all that work!

I like the basket weaves too. We have a bottle brush that did the job just perfectly.

The good thing about having moved to po-dunk-ville, is that you can get a decent job done for pretty cheap. The local tint shop does an excellent job, and I have already gotten a quote to remove and retint the entire car. That will be done as soon as I have a full day to hand the car over! Probably weekend after next. I can't wait! The tint really detracts from the car, it drives me crazy!

Thanks for the nice comments!

LOOK BUDDY!

You've seen the damn thing!

Do you want her or not?? She is PRICELESS to me, and I CRIED the day I switched her out for the 7!

You are a smart guy, you would find all these things anyway the moment you saw her! dork.

There are pluses! You and the boy can wash her together, and you can use the metal tipped hose sprayer, he can drop the mit and you won't have to worry. You can give him goldfish AND milk whilst driving and not worry! There might even already be some car seat indentions in the pass rear seat that would help you in the placement of your seat!

The cooling system is brand freeking new, so is alternator, so is the a/c system. Timing belt and water pump just changed, um, lost of bushings are new, can't remember which, i know rear subframe is.

So Look here!

you should buy her

Are you deaf? Or can you just not read? Or did you just not bother to read???

I have said the tint will get fixed next weekend like 2,000 times.

You'll do just fine on this forum, brother. There are a lot of English majors out here....so cool your drool or you'll end up being peeved all the time. Just kick back and say to yourself: 'Thanks, Mr/Mrs. (insert the name of your favorite English teacher here), for your guidance and wisdom'.

Okay, sister. I call everyone brother. I'll make an exception in your case.

BTW....where is Mabank, TX?

jake

Never mind, I'll do the Mapquest. Just curious, I lived most of my adult life in West Texas...Between El Paso, San Angelo, Del Rio and San Antonio.

That's just the way it works......if you need rain, wash your car. Works every time. Want even more rain, wax it.

jake

PS: Send us some of that rain....it's the rainy season in Vegas, and we've seen less than an inch this year. Out here the rule is, if you wash your car, the dust abatment water trucks will come through and water your street. You just can't win.
