please, oh please, tell me that this isnt anyones e38 from this forum
:(
the only thing i would take from this car are the rims...
and the numerous ///m emblems...
and the cool 750i badge...
how bout that awesome roof spoiler?
but i especially love the cool chrome detailing all over the place...
but seriously, those rims are nice
Stück 02-10-2007, 11:30 PM I like the swaybars, which according to the seller are about 1 and 3/4in in diameter.... nice...
"very fast, handles like race car"
I'm dyin' over here.
MisterPootieCat 02-10-2007, 11:51 PM Looks like something a pimp would drive around in. This car is definitely "PIMP NASTY".
Warsteiner 02-11-2007, 12:02 AM The chrome trim is horrible, the headlamps look like aftermarket Accord, and the 750 badge on the back is as bad as Cobra emblems on a V-6 Mustang. Sorry not feeling it here.
98323is 02-11-2007, 12:03 AM What's "dinan" about it besides the badge? I mean he has it advertised as a "1998 BMW 740 740I DINAN M SERIES SPORT"
I also didn't know they made an M// in the 7 series? I also thought "sport" came with sport seats and a three spoke steering wheel?
Sad thing is, someone will believe all this and will probably buy it.
When did BMW produce a M750i with a V8?:(

mahmudb 02-11-2007, 01:04 AM Looks like the owner of this e38 is a big ebayer. Love how it says "THIS IS NOT YOUR FATHERS BMW" of course not my dad wouldn't be caught in that ride.
Mungrin 02-11-2007, 03:35 AM Rice_owned!
Md750 02-11-2007, 09:36 AM everything aout this car is wrong...besides the wheels and maybe the aftermarket headlights.
LTrevino1 02-11-2007, 11:08 AM pimp mobile...
BMW5868 02-11-2007, 11:54 AM He must of bought the DINAN logo because he sure doesnt have the qualifing point for dinan to send him one and he missing two cylinders to boot. i bet his frt teeth are chromed two.
Yarra 02-11-2007, 12:14 PM Don't be hatin'!
No need to be jealous of a balla' that feels the need to put his headrest in the full, Up-right position!
At least he's caring enough to give his guests a nice box to rest thier feet on in the back seat!
Strahan 02-11-2007, 12:54 PM Is it just me or for having "german Vogtland lowering springs" doesn't it look to be sitting kinda high? It doesn't look any lower than my stock 7.
http://strahan.no-ip.org/lowered_or_not.jpg
Stück 02-11-2007, 01:05 PM Vogtland clearly doesn't lower much, just "handle like race car"
Hotmama740il 02-11-2007, 01:32 PM sounds like a ferrari... hmm right..have they ever heard a ferrari? just a dinnan program on the transdoesnt mean its a dinnan. so i guess with my hemi durango since i have a jet stage 2 chip its now a jet durango.....
740ilongnstrong 02-11-2007, 01:38 PM Its nice but, yes no reason to pose a 750 when its a 740. I think all those emblems make it look cluttered in the rear. The wheels are nice I like those!
JB740 02-11-2007, 02:51 PM I feel sorry for the buyer who get screwed on this deal. :shifty I don't even like the wheels much
Bread 02-11-2007, 03:33 PM I thought it was an impala when I saw the side pic at first. It was def. well taken care of though. With this car, all you'd have to do is pull stuff off of it for a clean look. Strip off the emblems, chrome window trim, door handles, tailights, and any M-badges. It's all personal taste really, but that's what I'd do.
series 02-11-2007, 06:53 PM That guy just had bad taste and no sense.
Jayccel 02-11-2007, 07:35 PM Too "busy" for me :eyecrazy . Not feeling the roof spoiler at all. All of those extras ruined the fine lines of the 7
rcaldwell7 02-11-2007, 10:35 PM Yuck!
gmcgann 02-11-2007, 11:12 PM Just for grins I asked the guy about the car and this is his response:
I ADVERTISED CAR AS 740 BECAUSE IT IS A 740.THE 750 BADGE CAME WITH THE M SET I BOUGHT.THE 740I SERIES IS EQUIPPED WITH THE SPORT TRANSMISSION.WHEN YOU PUT THE SHIFTER FROM D TO 4 THE S LIGHTS UP ON THE DASH. IF YOU READ THE ADD AGAIN CLOSELY YOU WILL SEE THAT I STATED IF BMW MADE AN M7 THIS WOULD BE IT! I HAVE A 2002 M5 AND THIS CAR WITH RUN RIGHT ALONG SIDE OF IT. I OWN 6 BMW'S AND MY FAMILY HAS ALWAYS DRIVEN THEM,I KNOW ALOT ABOUT THEM AND I KNOW HOW TO MAKE THEM RUN.I SPENT ALOT OF TIME AND MONEY TINKERING WITH THIS CAR TO MAKE IT PERFECT AND IT IS. So if it's a 740, why did he put that 750 emblem on it? Just because he had it? LOL

Dave McLaren 02-12-2007, 01:38 AM This is the sad thing about what happens to nice cars as they get old and fall into, IMO, the wrong hands. Then again, some folks would say the same about my 7 with its loud magnaflow rig. Guess I'm the teapot calling the kettle black. I'll sit back down now.;)
Dave
Hound 02-12-2007, 10:17 AM wow it's the ultra rare, sport model that doesn't have anything sport on it cept for the non sport "sport transmission" LOL :D
It'd be a nice looking car if it didn't have all the useless crap on there IMHO. those tails don't look half bad actually, could be worse, altezza's :(
I don't get it though how does he honestly think that he knows a lot about the bmw's when he can't even describe the car properly...
Strahan 02-12-2007, 11:37 AM I don't get it though how does he honestly think that he knows a lot about the bmw's when he can't even describe the car properly...
Funny, that reminds me of one time I was in AOL chat and some kid was fronting that he had a 750. I busted him by asking first which post of the headrest has the height adjuster? He's like uhh it's on the left side. Bzzzt! Then he couldn't answer how to toggle the info displayed on the dash cluster and what nailed it was when I asked him what side of the engine bay the battery is on and he said driver side :lol3
Jayccel 02-12-2007, 11:39 AM .....and what nailed it was when I asked him what side of the engine bay the battery is on and he said driver side :lol3
LOL....hilarious! You made him squirm, then kept on the attack...LOL
sleepy740 02-12-2007, 08:41 PM so i messeged him over ebay, and here is what i said...
"woah, that is the coolest looking 750i i have ever seen!!! is it a real "m" sport package? ive heard of a couple 1998's having that rare option, that must be why your price is so high. what do you think the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are? i would say they are pretty good!!! please email me back, because i would love to own a 750 race car.
thanks a lot!!
-Sebastian-"
and here is his response...
"HELLO SEBASTIAN,I DO NOT NOW THE TIMES BUT THIS CAR IS VERY FAST AND HANDLES AWESOME.I SPENT ALOT OF TIME AND MONEY ON THIS CAR. CALL ME WE CAN TALK (404)644-4083
THANKS CHRIS"
:rofl
hahaha, i should call him and talk like im a clueless dumbass who wants his amazing automobile
:shifty
Amazetbm 02-13-2007, 11:27 AM What's sad is, I've actually seen this car in person. The guy pulled up next to me at a gas statoin when I was in my E30 and was trying to look all smug. All that was no my mind was, "You damn ricer." I'd have more respect for this guy, if there was was an S62 under the hood coupled to a six-speed tranny from the M5
eddieb022000 02-13-2007, 03:09 PM first calling a non sport car a sport.
second: calling a V* a 750
3rd: calling it a dinan car when all he supposedly did was software... car is worth less than a stock 740 in my opinion
someone should tell ebay its false ad
greene08 02-13-2007, 04:23 PM That is priceless. I can't even say that his personal taste had anything to do with it, because he doesn't have any. The badges ruin it for me.
Boston Killer 02-13-2007, 05:02 PM This is horrible...
moroza 02-13-2007, 06:57 PM Too many (fake) badges, but I actually kinda dig the chrome on black look. It looks, at least from the photos, well done and thorough, including the lights and lips. And the interior hasn't been destroyed or anything, either.
Yes, the seller is somewhere on the intersecting line of evil and stupid, leaning towards the latter.
Titanium Beast 02-14-2007, 12:30 AM Rice_owned!
What is up with the racial remark? Or, am I missing something? Am I to assume that any bimmers fixed up in bad taste is "rice owned"?

its not a racial remark...
im sure you know already, but "rice" is a common term used to describe cars that have had some crappy additions...
the types of cars can range from honda, nissan, ford, chevy, vw, and even bmw...
so know, it doesnt just mean a japanese car, its what has been done to it...
take it easy and dont be so defensive
for instance...

Me too, I believe I parked next to him at the The Mall of Georgia over the holidays however I don't remember the M badge being on the car at the time. He'll never get what he's asking, at least not from an informed BMW buyer.
What I don't get, is that if he is so knowledgeable of BMW's and his family has always driven them, you would think that he would know what a travesty it is to do this to a BMW.

I do think it tends to be more prevalent however in certain cultures. Here in Atlanta, I mostly see this from the asian and hispanic culture and more often than not, it usually is a japanese car. I am sorry if anyone is offended by this because it certainly isn't meant that way, it just happens to be the case here. I also see from time to time BMW's which have been "riced" as well, as the website below attests to.

clicking on the link you recommended was the biggest mistake in my life,
used 3 hours of the rest of my life going thro' the website 3 times, could not stop laughing for another 4 hrs afterwards, now still suffering from SIL (sudden involuntary laughing) at work and all my co-workers think I'm crazy
Thanks a lot, from now on if ever I were to encounter anything not pleasant, I know where I could find a brighter day than to shoot myself

baja,
I too have enjoyed that website on more than one occasion.
Glad to be of service!! :)
series 02-15-2007, 03:41 AM HAHA offended I don't see what wrong with that it's just that those jap car and other car are thrashy, I'm asian/latino. I don't find it offensive.

It's good to know you have a sense of humor, it will come in handy in life.
I believe some people look for reasons to be offended because it justifies their own hatred and bigotry toward others. It has been my experience that those who scream racism loudest, are usually racists themselves.

He wasn't being defensive (but if he felt that way, that's his choice), he was just asking what the term meant. But you can see why he might have thought there was more to the term, considering how you associated "rice" with "japanese car" in your explanation.
I had never heard the term of "rice" until I joined this the Bimmer forum, so it was new to me also. And no one ever took the time to explain that it was associated with crappy additions/mods, so I believed it to be directed at Honda's, Toyota's etc., myself. I won't ever use the term, myself.
m740i 02-15-2007, 03:02 PM Worst. 7 Series. Ever.

Travesty is putting is nicely. Considering his uninformed ad and his responses, I couldn't even trust this vehicle to be a parts car.
