Im looking into if they are any good to install a chip in the bimmer
I always see alot of dubs there, not many bimmers but the GIAC website says they are a dealer of GIAC chips for BMW also.
thats what I had in the passat and want one for the bimmer now....

bin0101 02-10-2007, 11:30 PM ahh, the reason i was asking is because I work across the street from them, like I can look out of my office window and see them. since im at work 10 hours a day I wanted to know if I could trust em with my car
I mean I can always drive out to Alpharetta if I had to but wanted to know paticularly about EPG
Widsinator 02-11-2007, 01:04 PM They should be ok to just install a chip, there really isn't that much to it. I could do it for you for half of whatever they want to do it.
the blue potato 02-12-2007, 06:00 PM I know the owner - nice guy, but I am not sure on the quality of service. You may want to ask (or search) this over the VWvortex klan. I see way too much german rice up there at times. You must work in that small business park across the street?
BimmerDawg 02-12-2007, 06:29 PM I had Brian install a Garrett chip on my MK3 GTI VR6 back in the day and it fried my ECU, overloaded my fuel pump and cost me over $3k outta pocket, none of which he wanted to help me out with. I was young and dumb at the time so I just trusted him and didn't seek any recourse, but I should have. Perhaps he's got his stuff together by now, but if I were you I'd pursue other options.
lucky hare 02-13-2007, 12:55 AM They were working on a e46 m3 last time I was up there. The tech, Thomas is a good guy and has worked at other euro shops. He knows about e36s. Should be pretty good.

If you are OBDII then it won't even be a chip. All you have to do is plug it into the port under the hood and it transfers the tune. It was made so anyone could do it.

Long time ago he reflashed my ECU for my 1.8 Gti thats about it .. i heard a lot bad stuff about Brain ripping off people and shit... i dont think he works on BMW
peete 02-13-2007, 02:16 PM Excellent service. Brian is a super cool guy. I had my Passat towed up there for a clutch from the southside. They were basically half what the dealer wanted and they did an outstanding job.

ok, im gonna have to school myself on the process for this car.
it was a mission with the old car, i actually bought a spare ECU to chip so I could just swap em when i needed to make it eaiser.

peete 02-13-2007, 04:12 PM From the Bavautosport site:

Should be similar.
bin0101 02-13-2007, 04:16 PM good lookin out with that, reading it now....
Mitchy540 02-13-2007, 06:16 PM For what it's worth, I've known Brian Ettl for several years, he is a stand up super cool guy. I've never heard of him ripping anyone off. Yes he can do software work on BMWs, Audis and VWs. He did a bunch of work on my GTI VR6 back a few years.

If it is for a 2001 330CI the part number at bavauto.com (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/bavauto.com)is BAVPP4. It would be very easy to do this on your own and you can't really mess up as they give you step by step instructions on how to do it.
M3UOND 03-02-2007, 06:15 PM Any ideas how good they would be at installing a VF Engineering stage 1 supercharger kit on a 540i/6?
BimmerDawg 03-02-2007, 09:18 PM Read my response.
I can install that at my shop, too.
