You know how you can hold the button on the key to roll all of the windows down simulataneously, right. I was wondering, is there an option available to put the windows "up"? I realize you can insert the key into the door, turn to the right to put all of the windows up, but was wondering if that same option is available by using the key.
Kind of like Micheal Keaton did on the movie "Pacific Heights" when he used his remote to turn the alarm on and roll up the windows at the same time.
Sorry for the potentially goofy question, but it's Friday night, I'm watching "Law & Order" and my mind is wandering.

Dont believe there is. My accord is the same way, pisses me off. But if you think about it, there is probably a lawsuit issue there on hand for the simple reason that if someone's head got rolled up in a window using the key I'm sure a car manu. would be getting sued, no what I mean?

You have to insert the key in the door to roll up the windows and close the sunroof. Probably for safety, my guess.

MPCat is correct - the safety features insures that children or pet dont have their heads out the windows and aren't injured by the windows going up unexpectatedly, i would like this feature but it is unavailable, it seems strange because the windows have safety pressure strip at the top of the door that will automatically stop and put the windows down 1 inch if this were to happen. German over kill IMO.

ditto the comments above...but if you live in Europe...you CAN get your BMW programmed to roll up the windows with the remote.
The answer is NO...the question is..."can I get my US BMW dealer to do it?"
If you have $80 and can get in line with the others wanting this done...there is a guy that will be at BimmerFest ( this year in Santa Barbara) that is from Germany and has cracked the BMW code and has a program on his laptop that will unlock this feature on US BMW models. ;)
Here's a past thread from 6 days ago that discusses this topic and has a direct link to the thread over on BimmerFest.com where they discuss the availablity of programming at BimmerFest (May/2007): http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=8605300&postcount=2

Nice link Quick,
I must say I'm a bit taken back by the fact this guy is charging his fellow bimmer folk.... He said it takes under 5 min. too do in one post...
If I had the code I would help my fellow bimmer friends....
I crack various INTERESTING DEVICES on a daily basis and I never charge my friends....
They bring the hardware, I make it do things there not supposed too...
For me Its about the satisfaction of making things work BETTER shall we say.....
Why use a Xbox to Play a Video Game when You can Surf Bimmer Forums on it, Communicate Via FTP W/ your Home network and transfer you DVD rip of the Transporter back to the Xbox for viewing. And then after your bimmer'd out, watch some Satellite on the thing.....
Full Functionality For Free!!!!!!!!

I agree...and even if he was going to charge money...$80 seems really high. For that amount of money...I have no problem walking a few extra feet to stick the key into the lock cylinder to perform the same function.:rolleyes

Thanks for all the feedback, folks. Yea MPCat, I mentioned that in my original post/question :) Eighty bucks for 5 minutes work? I agree with Lexicon as far as "offering" it for free to my fellow Bimmer-buddies. Bimmerfest in May, eh? Hmmmm, Santa Barbara isn't that far away :cool
