View Full Version : camber airynhenry 02-10-2007, 01:34 AM i have a 95 ti lowered with H&R springs and the camber in the rear is just terrible is there anything i can do to correct this camber issue w/o raising my car back to stock height? cooljess76 02-10-2007, 02:42 AM They sell adjustable trailing arm bushings. This will allow you to correct the camber, but they're pretty exspensive, about $200-$250. Check eBAY. The front camber shouldn't be as bad, however if you want to correct the camber on the front they sell camber adjuting plates which mount onto the strut towers. They cost between $250-$300. The rears will be Ti specific, but the fronts will work with all e36's coleco 02-11-2007, 04:30 PM Ive had the same problem forever with the ground control coilovers the only solution i have found is the K-Mac rear camber kit. which is like cooljess said a bushing that you can turn to adjust the camber. Bavauto has the same item they just dont tell you its a K-Mac. I have just grown to accept that my rear camber is ridiculous and get new tires a lot hehe im afraid with the way i drive that ill knock those Kmacs out of alignment. Anyone tried the Eibach rear camber kit for the TI? I see it when i search "318ti rear camber" in froogle.com I think i prefer that to the ireland engineering and Kmac ones now that i look at it more. It seems in the picture on froogle that the eibach rear camber kit solves the problem that i was having with ordering the kmac kit. on the kmac you tighten a urethane bushing against metal and torque it so it holds the thing in the right camber setting... on the eibach it looks like you torque a metal adjustment point to a metal piece allowing for more torque and less chance of it slipping out of position with severe stress airynhenry 02-21-2007, 09:08 AM yea i checked into the eibach but i have a 95 and it says for 96 and up is there a difference in my setup as opposed to a 96 or newer? coleco 02-21-2007, 06:11 PM it seems that eibach makes 2 different ones . one for the m42 ti and one for the m44 ti . im not sure what difference, if any, there is sbkrider 02-21-2007, 06:19 PM I have the eibach for my 328i and they are a great investment. Tirerack had the second best price and had them in stock. I highly recommend them. Another note is that they are not made by eibach, they are made by and stamped by SPI and sold under the eibach name. If you can find the SPI website they are significantly less. Good luck coleco 02-23-2007, 04:35 AM screw it the easy fixes are all to expensive and inadequate im just going to get the weld in camber kit for e30 z3 and 318ti rear ends that they sell at bimmerworld. Ill have to remove the subframe to get the pieces welded so ill just also do the subframe bushings and rear suspension bushings. I guess i also needed an excuse to upgrade the subframe bushings so i can get a solid diff mount anyways. another slippery slope into parts buying for me. airynhenry 02-23-2007, 10:37 PM camber....i hate it to tell you the truth but yea im def. waiting to put my 18's on till i get it corrected...cuz i cant afford tires... cosmos schwarz 03-08-2007, 01:21 PM thought i'd let you know, the ti, z3's rear camber issue will not cause inner tyre wear if your a "spirited" driver, the car leans over on bends and the tyre sits flat on the road. if you pot about at 30mph on straight roads all the time it may be an issue. i had the k-mac bushes fitted on my ti, not that much of a differance really, took off about 1.5 degree of negative only. does tighten up the rear though as they're poly. btw, eibach adj. control arm's are for saloon/coupe's only, (if thats what you mean coleco) you should be looking for a bush kit. coleco 03-08-2007, 04:20 PM you are correct about the eibach kit cosmos. Since finding the picture of that eibach kit on froogle.com i have discovered that is was a typo. that kit is really for a e36 318i. I've decided a couple weeks ago to do the Ireland Engineering www.bmw2002.com weld in toe and camber kits just as soon as i have the time and weather to do the removal of the rear subframe. its way to much work for the benefit but i really want to beable to align the rear end toe correctly. Those Kmac kits might hold up in california or florida where the roads are smooth but I'm in Kansas where they will have no chance. incorrect toe on the rear end accelerates tire wear just as excessive negative camber will. combine those two on 17" wheels and boost and you will begin to see why my ti has become a "michelin killer" airynhenry 03-12-2007, 05:24 PM i came across this kit from turnermotorsports.com part number 192026 some let me know if this is any good? cosmos schwarz 03-13-2007, 09:25 AM 192026 H is the k-mac part no. that i have, so yes. and it will be the k-mac kit you will recieve if you order it. i could see a picture of the kit on their site, but couldnt find it listed with a price? got a link? cosmos schwarz 03-13-2007, 09:29 AM found it under z3, yep, thats the right kit. airynhenry 03-13-2007, 05:30 PM so you have it on your car the price is 250.... http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/search_results.asp?txtsearchParamCat=ALL&txtsearchParamType=ALL&txtsearchParamMan=ALL&txtsearchParamVen=ALL&I1.x=0&I1.y=0&txtsearchParamTxt=192026&limit=All+Vehicles did it fully correct your camber...im lowered on H&R's with 18's and a 215/35 series tire... |
