I am in the buying process of a new set of wheels for the track, mostly for DE and TT. am I taking some risk that they will stick out a little too far?

The car is a '98 M3 with stock suspension. The wheels are 17x8 et36 and the tires are Toyo RA-1, 235-40-17.

With offset of 36, as opposed to 41, and 235 tires as opposed to 225/245, I figure that the outside edge of the rear tire will remain in the same place and the outside edge of the front tire will move outward by 11 mm. If this is so, then what are the chances that I will have some rubbing. What if I Upgrade my suspension?

Thanks,

and what happened to the "Official E36 Tire thread" I cant find it anywhere.

I can't imagine you'd have any problems. I ran 255s on 8.5" wheels with 38mm offset and used a 5mm spacer to avoid inside rubbage. That's a much wider tire on a net 33mm offset. I did have more negative camber but I think you'll be fine.

Many of the threads that were parked have been located inside a FAQs thread that's parked. That way you don't have to navigate thru all those parked threads to get to the current threads.

Look inside here for the tire threads.

Jay is right, you should be just fine. I ran BBS RK 17x8 et 35 wheels with 255x40 Azenis rt615s, no spacers and just a little rear fender roll.

So that said, one could assume it is possible to run a hankkok z211 in 235/40r17 fitment on an 17x8 bbs rk without hassle.

I would certainly think so.

It's nice to know that 255's will fit on those BBS wheels since I have a set myself.
