HEY ALL.....
So I am really excited that I'm getting a chance to take part in a little "mini rally" my friends and I are putting on from NH to Kansas and once we're out there we have a few parties in kansas city and an auto cross session in salina ks, at an old city airport.

So my questions are as follows my vert has a full 1996 M3 front suspension with the offset upper strut mounts and in the rear I will have the camber adj. control arms and I also have Eibach sways on the car.

I'm thinking to myself what todo when I "PREP" the car???
Should I swap the swaybars and put them on the secong hole "stiff" setting front and rear. And adjust the camber in the rear, mabey even swap my front struts to get more camber up front????

Thanks!!!!

If this is your first autox ever, just drive the car as it is. Increase your tire pressures to keep from rolling over onto the side wall. I usually bleed between runs as the pressure grows as the tires heat up. (I run Kumho MX on an M3 'vert. In warm weather I run 42 psi front, 38 psi rear. I lower the pressures a little bit in cooler weather.) Get an instructor to ride with you and listen to what they tell you.

Most importantly... HAVE FUN!

Scott

Here are some links to good reading material. The Solo II Novice Handbook is worth the read...

Honestly, no, I don't think you should mess with the car at all. Think of it this way, the swaybar adjustment permits you to tune the oversteer or understeer of your car at the limit. Do you know if you need more or less? Do you know which end needs to be adjusted, front or rear? If not, don't make the adjustment. I did 2 years of autocross before I started messing with adjustments on my car. My driving was so inconsistent that I couldn't tell you if the car need more or less swaybar let alone which end of the car to adjust.

Your car is fine the way it is for your first autocross. The sport is mostly driver anyway, so go out and learn how to drive. You have plenty of time to worry about the car later.

Have fun,

Scott
