View Full Version : Dream of E60
Ristmar 02-08-2007, 12:02 PM Hi since this is a new Forum, I just wanted to tell everyone that this car is my dream car and I´m planning on getting a 2004 model on 2010, just 3 more years, next year I´ll change my E34 for a 2002 E39 maybe a 540
Greetings
qcdstick 02-08-2007, 02:00 PM Nice cars, but I personally prefer the E39 styling :-P
ohnoes 02-08-2007, 02:03 PM Nice cars, but I personally prefer the E39 styling :-P
If you saw the black on black E60 M5 that I did today in Vienna, you'd think differently.
SC David 02-08-2007, 02:16 PM Oooh, weird new forum. I may own an E39 someday, but most likely a smaller BMW. E90 335i sedan???
hmm.. e60.. always possible in the future.
Fast Frankie 02-08-2007, 02:23 PM I prefer the e39 styling over the e60
don't get me wrong.. I still prefer the e34... doesn't mean I can't have both:D
isaac'sbmw 02-08-2007, 04:43 PM I want an M5, but e39. Maybe someday I will own an E60, I guess it depends on how much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I make !!!

Its really grown on me.. I love it. Two e60s park next to me every day. Its like we have a bimmer 5er section in the parking lot. I think i still do like the e39 better though.
MunichMobile 02-08-2007, 11:26 PM Good cars. I considered an 545i before buying my 540i. Test drove them both and parked the side by side at the dealer. I just couldn't get past the fact that the E39 looked so much better to me. Still, in all likelyhood, I'll probably eventually have an E60.
epbrown 02-09-2007, 12:48 AM Anyone check out the changes for the facelift yet? Looks pretty sweet! It's in the latest issue of BMW Magazine.
e39dream 02-09-2007, 03:01 AM e60 I saw has wrap-around headrests. Seriously think of that for a minute. It must be like being nestled into your mothers womb while driving. I'll have one someday, once they depreciate or I get some more $, whichever is quicker :)
dello 02-09-2007, 10:16 AM i have actually drove a m5, and it was a thrill to drive. I'm not sure if I ever want to own one. Way too much technology. God help you if something goes wrong. A buddy of mine works at BMW dealer and he let me drove one that was recently brought back under lemon law. He told me that it took the service tech 3 weeks to figure out the problem and another 2 weeks to received the correct part. Golden rule, buying a car with too much techonolgy can be painful, only if you plan to drive it spordically. E60 is not a bad car, but the price has climb through the roof. I will wait for face-lift models to appear next year to get a good deal. Plus the new 535i will be arriving soon, so the 550 and 545 price will drop as people will start to opt for imo better engine.
vnowarita 02-10-2007, 01:10 AM Anybody see a big difference between the handling of the e39's and the e60's specifically the v8's. I'm sure the m5 is insane but anyone compared. I'm not a big fan of the styling of the new ones either. The bottom line for me is performance

M-TEK on your E39 is the best look esp compared to E60! :buttrock

uh yeah... why isnt a roundel there?:D
dello 02-13-2007, 10:46 AM 04 e55 benz will be in the shop more than a 545i. I guess I prefer to drive my car more than admire it own a lift and getting raped by mercedes benz for all my $$$$.

if you had the money to own an e55, i doubt you'd be worrying about the occasional visit to the garage.
p.s. an e55's maintenance record is not as bad as you say. they are no worse than owning an e39. it's just that the repairs they do have to undergo are more expensive.
MunichMobile 02-14-2007, 02:01 AM I think the 03+ E Class looks much better than the E60s (and better than the E39s). I really did consider the E500 & E55AMG last year. But every last person I spoke to said that despite hp, the BMWs were way more fun to drive.
While it's hard to believe that a 475hp E55 is less fun than a E39 or E60 (except M5) I followed everyone's advice and got the BMW. No regrets yet.

E55s are nice and quick, but in my opinion they look like a chick's car.
Again, that's just my opinion.

Good Choice, Did you get the sport package?
steveo242 02-25-2007, 06:18 PM Good Choice, Did you get the sport package?
Nope, no active steer either, wanted it as raw as it could be. I love the feel of the road. Might go to summer low pro tires to get more sport feel, and maybe a sway bar if I pick up any roll, but loving it.
blurex 03-20-2007, 04:50 PM any issues with your car? i am intersted in one..
