If he gets the cog of death sign displayed on his LCD, disconnect the battery and connect it again. This reboots the system (like Windows...). He'll want a 10mm wrench in the car for this. steveo242 02-25-2007, 06:29 PM At least you get to see it, and ride in it!! Alex.M 03-02-2007, 12:53 AM Tell him to wait for the SMG failure. I didn't know about this recepe. Will need to remember it... just in case. :shifty V10power 03-16-2007, 01:05 AM also as a gift get him a six pack of oil (only available at BMW at $9 to $15 a quart) mine tends to burn about a quart every 1000 miles. five&dime 03-20-2007, 02:39 PM http://farm1.static.flickr.com/183/426156432_7412bb2e8e_o.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/158/426156467_ba88e3bb02_o.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/152/426159474_383acc5f93_o.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/166/426159481_0ca0db7e79_o.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/181/426159482_7022592a8b_o.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/150/426159483_76448e1bbb_o.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/168/426161197_90f2c3a2c7_o.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/156/426161203_2200e0db97_o.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/154/426161224_608d8f3b63_o.jpg Cicada 03-21-2007, 05:51 AM Nice. We are financial advisors at Merrill Lynch. Here are some more I took yesterday. I am just a year in the business and he is about 12 years in. Gives me motivation to work hard. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/188/438191385_54fffebaaa_o.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/186/438191397_c334b8450e_o.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/156/438191399_097c2a031c_o.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/167/438191401_1feaf5d606_o.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/187/438191403_c1646c7a40_o.jpg Mdnight 03-29-2007, 12:15 PM Just got on here, but already helpful! I got my E60 M5 (Blk/Blk) over a year ago and have put on over 25K Mi on it...and have loved every one of them...I did have to break a bit of ground with my dealer...even though I use Keeler here in Albany and they are a pretty big dealer. I got one of the first 2 they got in, and put more miles on than most. The biggest thing we found was what was mentioned previously...it has gone through A LOT of oil...in the beginning, AT LEAST a quart per 1000mi...and we now know that is expected for the first 10-15 K, but they always GAVE me the oil...hey...they boast...NO MAINTENANCE COST right?!? Well, they have totally held up that part...occasionally I have had to put in some 10W-50 (always fully synthetic, but even MOBILE 1 will do in a pinch) because i was unable to get in when i hit the "-.1L" warning (I'd go to "0" but not below), and in the beginning, it did go through it fast, but you will be happy to know that now, while it still burns/eats it, i get at least 2500mi per liter, and they STILL provide it when needed and have even given me an extra quart to cruise around with in the trunk. Will post some pics soon.... Mdnight 03-29-2007, 12:19 PM Nice Masarati! they look great together! My stable isn't quite as pretty but it does have the horses to fly (My mean over 4 vehicles is 355 (total 1420hp)) Mdnight 03-29-2007, 12:23 PM Tell him to wait for the SMG failure. Had no idea about any SMG failure...that would suck!!....I'm going to put a 10mm into the trunk now (if there isn't one in the kit)...I am just getting the recall reprogramming for the exhaust done today...you will start getting exhaust warning lights if you don't get it done, and may fail inspection (not sure) Though, my guess is that if you disconnect the battery to reset this, you probably ought to get it right into BMW for reprogramming to ensure proper computer control...this thing is more 'fly by wire' than a bloody F-18!! The M engines are so loose it's stupid. whay 04-05-2007, 09:58 PM Those aren't the standard 07 M5 wheels right? If not, did he buy them separately or did the dealer swap them out for him. I'm in the process of ordering a 08 550i sport and I want the wheels switched out for the 07 M5s. Any chance? TGS550 04-06-2007, 12:03 AM That might be the winter tire rim for the M5's. I ordered a 08 550 as well, M sport is standard on the 08's. Must wait until end of this month. |
