View Full Version : 2007 3 series selection
timmtc 02-06-2007, 11:40 PM I'm currently an owner of an e36 328, and my dad is now in the market for a new car. He loves BMW's, he lived in europe and had a really amazing euro spec 325 in the early 80's. He drives an Acura right now, and hes going to be looking for a new car for the fall.
He's interested in getting a 3 series, but hes not so fond of the new look of the 2007 3 series. However, if he were to consider one he would probably choose between the 323 sedan or the 328 sedan. He has a really long commute to work every day, and it's 80% stop and go. I would normally tell him to go for the 328 for the power, but would it even be economical considering the driving is primarily city? I don't know much about the new gen of the 3 series, how do they drive and are they built well etc?
I figured the best would be a fully loaded (sport/premium pkg) 323. It put out 200 horse (or so it says on the site) and I assume it would have pretty decent pep. Any input?

230 HP and its fine.
Harve 02-07-2007, 03:01 PM Not much you can fully load onto the 323. If you're going to fully load that, I'd rather get the 328 base.
I tested the 323 for comparison and I did not feel the pep in the 200hp.
The 323 takes a few seconds before kickdown which will make the difference between making the light and red light cam ticket. :redspot

Bullcrap. For a few extra $1000s for the twin turbo and XEDE + exhaust mod you can have a car that accelerates like a Ferrari!!!

I didnt think the 2007 series makes a 323, i thought it was just the 328 and the 335.
Dwimmerlaik 02-07-2007, 08:47 PM Is this a time warp? I feel like we are back in 2002.
theroyalwe 02-07-2007, 09:18 PM the 323 is a 200 hp model that is sold in canada. here in the land of steak and budweiser we have only the 328 and 335 models available.
